What is More Suitable for Me - Invisalign or Damon Braces? (photo)

I have 5 mm gap and 5 mm over jet, i don't have biting problems, i have 1 rotated molar but this also doesn't bother me, what should i use for getting the best result in the shortest time? thank you! which one is faster and more effective, which gives the best result- invisalign or damon?

A: Damon braces for Big space in front

I am an orthodontist who uses Damon braces for most of my treatments and I do think it would be the most effective appliance that you could use for treating a problem like yours.  Those two front teeth are going to need a lot of lateral movement without too much tipping into the space.  I think this could probably be controlled better using fixed braces like the Damon system.  The lower incisors will need to be very significantly intruded to get the clearance needed to retract the upper front teeth and close the space.  Again I think fixed appliances will be more effective for that.  Regardless of what appliance you use, be sure that you go to an ADA  recognized orthodontic specialist for a treatment as difficult as this.  If you have  someone who is not not an orthodontic specialist and is not very experienced in orthodontics try to do it, they might have a difficult time getting a nice result for you on a case this challenging.

Will Having my Impacted Canine Tooth Removed After Invisalign Ruin my Results? (photo)

I am 24. I still have a baby canine tooth, that looks very awkward with my smile, which I want to remove. My dentist told me the adult tooth was in the front of my gums, but not exposed. I intend to have my teeth straightened with invisalign, but would it be pointless to do if having my adult canine pulled down eventually could possibly ruin the results. Also, I have slight buck teeth. Is it even worth the trouble or should I just consider veneers?

A: Only 24 an have an impacted cuspid

You need to go see an ADA recognized orthodontic specialist for an opinion and even get a second opinion from another orthodontic specialist if you want to.  I am an orthodontist and I would really like to see you find someone who can bring that unerupted cuspid down into its proper position where it should be.  The best thing for you is NOT to lose that tooth if at all possible.  It looks like you have very nice teeth and you really need to get that unerupted cuspid brought into position and along the way take care of the little bit of "buck teeth" at the same time.  You need a fully integrated plan that will get that tooth down where it belongs and take care of all of the other stuff at the same time.  Do not go at this piece meal and Invisalign is probably not the best choice for bringing in impacted teeth.  If you want something more cosmetic than regular braces get clear brackets on the front.  You are only 24 years old, you can have a virtually perfect set of teeth for the rest of your life, don't mess it up by losing a really important tooth like the cuspid.  Veneers don't sound like a good answer for this.

Is It Normal for my Palette Behind Central Incisors to Bleed on my 1st Week of Treatment?

It is the first week on my invisalign treatment and i've noticed the toothache subside little by little. Unfortuanately the top of my mouth behing my front two teeth always seem to bleed, especially in the morning. It's swollen also. Is this normal?

A: Palate Bleeding

I would recommend that you call your orthodontist right away and explain the situation.  It is quite likely that they will want to see you to see what is happening.
