Coronal Forehead Lift for Young Patient?

I am in mid 20's (female) but already have issues with horizontal forehead wrinkles/folds, very apparent even with the slightest effort to look up.

Today, I met with my plastic surgeon (who performed Asian blepharoplasty on me few years ago with very satisfactory/natural results), and he recommended Forehead lift for lasting results.

I did some research later and found out what he explained to me was "coronal Forehead lift," which seemed unnecessarily invasive especially for a patient in her 20's. I called his office, and apparently he does not perform Endoscopic Forehead lift. Is that normal, should I find another doctor?

A: Coronal forehead lifts are probably unnecessary in patients of all ages. Stick to endoscopic approaches.

From my standpoint, there are no advantages and certainly some significant disadvantages of performing a coronal vs. endoscopic brow lift.  I think you need to consider chemodenervation initially with botox or dysport, and then look into surgery only as needed.  In my experience there are very few patients in their 20's or even 30's that really would require surgery.

Surprisingly, botox or dysport can really open the eyes and provide a slight brow lift when completed by a truly experienced injector.  Filler agents placed carefully into the lateral brow head can also give you a slight lift in 5 minutes with little to no risk.

I really recommend three qualified opinions before launching on any plans here.

Forehead and Brow Lift with Thermage or Fraxel

I would also like to know if Thermage lifts the forehead? Can it lift the brow area? I also would like to know if Fraxel laser would tighten the skin on the forehead or do any lifting for the eyebrow area?

A: Browlifts with surgery, fraxel or thermage.

I have experience with fractionated erbium, fractionated CO2 lasers, thermage, and current endoscopic surgical brow or forehead lifts.  I am in agreement with the consensus of physicians.  Surgery is unfortunately the only reliable, safe, and effective measure to lift the brow.  Fortunately this can be done in about an hour with all scars hidden within the hair.

Speak to a qualified surgeon who has experience with all these approaches to decide what might be the best for you.

Forehead Enhacement for 5cm Forehead

what can be done for my super low forehead?? i tweezed about a 1/2 cm of my hairline about a year ago and it really opened up my face, but it looked very fake. is there a forehead lift that can be done to give me for forehead length? i just need 1/2 to 1 cm and it really opens up my face. please help me. what can i do? my forehead is only 5cms and very narrow. thanks for all the time and effort. -sarah.

A: Forehead elevation

Hello,

There are many options available to lengthen your forehead if that is what you would like to achieve.  A more common request is forehead shortening as the forehead tends to lengthen as we age.  If you have deep forehead wrinkles and a low forehead botox may help both.  This is sometimes seen in the younger patients with strong forehead muscle activity.  Otherwise there are a number of other surgical and non surgical options available.  if your eyebrow are also low and need elevating a brow lift will naturally lengthen the forehead if performed by a coronal brow lift or via a endoscopic brow lift.

All the best,

Dr Repta
