Lower Lip Bump Inside Mouth After Juvederm, What Can I do? (photo)

I have one large bump inside my lower lip after juvaderm injection 10 days ago. when i initially became concerned I asked the doctor and she said it should softened within a couple weeks. seems that it is ok in the morning but gets worse as the day goes on. and is actually still sore. when i smile it "pops" out. thoughts? also my upper lip is not as smooth as i thought it would be. should i get minimal amounts of juvaderm to soften so not bumpy?

A: I suspect that the fullness is excess filler either filler

Hello,

The lower lip fullness is probably excess filler.  It can be injected with hyaluronidase to dissolve it or you can simple just give it more time to see if it settles down.  More filler may smooth out problems with the first placement of filler but it can also make it worse if not done right.  I am a bigger fan of injecting at the wet-dry junction of the red part of the lip to roll the lip out a bit as opposed to at the white-red junction as doing so tends to give the lips a duck bill type appearance when done so in excess.

Is This The Tyndall Effect or a Healing Bruise Under Eyes? (photo)

I had Juvederm XC injected into my tear trough area for under eye hallows 5 weeks ago. I had a SEVERE bruise under my left eye and a smaller bruise under my right. I still have a dark tint under both eyes and appear to have two black eyes without makeup. Does this look like the Tyndall effect or are the bruises still healing? The dr. Said he injected very deep so I should not end up with this effect. Would love others opinions based on my pictures. THanks

A: Tyndall vs Bruise vs Hemosiderin stain

Hello,

Tyndall effect is very subtle and it deals with the light refraction of the injectable.  Your photo is more likely either a bruise or a component of hemosiderin stain.  A bruise should slowly be improving.  At 5 weeks I am suspecting that hemosiderin stain may be a component.  If no further improvement is seen in the next few weeks you may benefit from having that treated with V-beam on low setting.

Permanent Fix for Dark and Deep Tear Trough?

Greetings,

I have had my tear troughs filled with Juvederm for the past two years now, and even prior with Captique. I've been happy with this fix as it's the best I've found yet to improve my dark under eye circles.

While they remain red from the under lying blood vessels & muscle, filling them they do look much improved. I would really like to find a permanent solution to this. [I have makeup on in this photo but it's been 9 months since my last injection.]

A: Fillers are best option for deep tear troughs

While many patients seek a "longer lasting" answer, I would caution you that if you are happy with the results from the filler, it is best to stay with this option.
