my trouble is my pouch on my tummy and my love handles. secondary- are my jiggly arms. I work out every other day and follow a healthy diet. 5ft 5 tall, approx 138 lbs, age, 52.
Since we don't have a photo, my best guess--based on your age--is that you have enough loss of skin elasticity to benefit most from at least the small amount of tightening you'd get with the mini tummy tuck. That procedure, combined with judiciously applied lipo, would probably give you a very nice improvement. Lipo over the back wasitline area might further enhance the outcome. Your best bet is to consult with a board certified plasti surgeon who can take a look at you and make recommendations based on your unique anatomy.
I have very bad stretch marks and while I hate them, the bit that I hate more is the wrinkles and saggy skin under my belly button.
I understand a full TT (Tummy Tuck) would correct most of my concerns but I'm not sure I could live with such a large scar. Therefore, I was wondering, if I could live with the stretch marks can a mini tuck get rid of the wrinkly, saggy skin under my belly button?
Most likely you would see some improvement with a mini tummy tuck. In my practice, a mini tummy tuck involves removing excess skin below the belly button, abdominal muscle tightening in this area and possibly some additional contouring via liposuction. However, there would be no corrections made above the belly button which is one of the advantages of a full abdominoplasty.
How is it different than a regular tummy tuck?
A mini tummy tuck involves a shorter incision and may or may not involve muscle tightening and liposuction. It also doesn't require repositioning the umbelicus. In general, this procedure is best suited to an individual who has mosly redundant lower abdominal skin (usually a result of pregnancy) with a overall good figure otherwise.
A full tummy tuck is a more extensive procedure tha improves the entire abdomen from the pubic area to just below the breasts. It also involves a larger incision above the pubic area that extends from side to side.
