Can Artfill or Sculptra be used successfully in filling in indentations from over zealous liposuction in the neck region? And if so what are your thoughts about this technique? I am interested in more precision filling then permanent fat grafting that could produce irregularities. Any advice would help!
Yes, fillers can do well to correct irregularities. I used some radiesse last week in a patient that had fat transfers on face that did not take evenly. I could have also used sculptra, restylane of perlane to acheive this result. In the neck I might have used restylane or perlane as it is a bit softer. Sculptra can be used in certain areas and dilute accordingly. I would not choose artefill as would be afraid of it's staying put while the normal anatomy changes. However, I do not use Artefill so might not be best to voice opinion on this.
I had to have a short 5 day low dose course of Prednisone to deal with poison ivy. I had sculptra almost three months ago and had already seen filling occuring. Now just two days after the Prednisone, my face literally looks deflated. Is that possible? It was working so well.
The short course of steroids that you have taken, well after the sculptra has done most of it's work, should not be any problem. This probably all represented changes in fluid retention during steroid use and loss of that after.
I am travelling to the united states for 12 weeks. I have lost over 3 stone in weight. my face has become full on wrinkles and would like to have Sculptra done when Im in US. Is Sculptra safe and what is the cost of the treatment per session?
Isabell, I think that Sculptra is safe enough to have it in my own face and highly recommend it for others that can benefit from it. As discussed, it is a process and not a one time deal so be prepared to have someone at home continue your treatment unless you travel to USA frequently. It is very important that whoever you choose is well trained as this product takes more skill than do some and lasts a lot longer.
