5 months ago I had Juvederm for naso folds. I wasn't very happy with results, 1 side didn't need as much but I feel he overfilled. When he was injecting that side, on the last injection he pulled out the needle & right away there was a lump at injection site along with more bleeding than any other area. He said it will go down. 10 days later still there, went back in. Dr did nothing. Now 5 mos later, Juve is slightly going away & lump seems more noticeable. How can I tell if it's a granuloma?
I would;d go back to your doctor and have this evaluated as we can neither see nor feel this. It is possible that it is juvederm and can be dissolved. If it is anything else it might be possible to calm it down with a steroid injection.
I recently consulted with a plastic surgeon about juvederm for my nasolabial folds. He said that the juvederm is not injected all the way to the corners of the mouth; rather it should stop about halfway down the fold from the nose to avoid any issues with smile irregularities. This concerns me because it would not erase the pronounced line on the left side of my mouth. Is this true?
I agree with Dr. Finder. What to inject and how to inject it should be determined by someone with lots of experience with all fillers. The choice would depend on the depth of your creases and several other characteristics. Restylane is softer for finer lines and Radiesse and Perlane could be used for tougher creases. Filler can certainly be placed up to and around the mouth. I do it ll the time.
I had juvederm injection's last week but I have suspicions that they were fake, as my lips were bleeding really bad as she was pointing the shringe downward's and there was alot of blood, can you tell by the box it came in as it came in a white box with yellow on it with the word soft.
If you are unsure of what you had injected you should go back and ask to see your chart. Most dermatologists put the lot numbers in the charts for purposes of identification in case of such problems or recalls, etc. Most fillers come with sticker that peels off the syringe and sticks in chart. I also agree with others about the fact that dermatologists have been using these products for the longest time. That being said, there are plenty of plastic surgeons that can do this well. However , stay away from the "bargain practitioners"
