I want to get fat transferred to nasolabial folds. 8 years ago , I had juvederm 1 ml total injected to my nasolabial folds .looks visibly gone now , but I was curious if any remains of it lingering would affect fat getting a blood supply to that area . Ive seen a doctor in Australia say remains of filler years later still show on an mri as white spots . Would I have to use hyluronidase to get rid of the remains if any despite filler only supposed to last just a year? Can fat still take even when filler was there before ?
It has been said the most successful fat transfers use PRP to help the fat stick to blood supply. However I've had consults with renowned fat grafting doctors who don't use PRP. How necessary is it? Thank you.
Lip fat transfer to replace permalip? I had permalip implants many years ago, which I'd now like to replace because they're too hard. There are softer options such as UltraSoft, and Advanta, but I cannot find any surgeons in the UK that offer this - So I am considering a fat transfer and understand the fat becomes permanent if it finds blood supply, but my question is, if the fat is injected into the scar capsule, where the permalip has been, does the scar tissue prevent the fat from getting the blood supply? Thank you!!
I had a trigger point injection into masseter. Doctor bruised the muscle & nicked blood vessels; the bruise faded fast but left a permanent depression. Its been 10 months & there is remodeling of scar tissue with muscle involvement. Surgeon recommends Facial Fat Transfer. Id like to know if the fat can establish a blood supply with scar tissue present. Id rather do nothing than make it worse. It really bothers me but other people dont notice it. Its right under my cheekbone. Do you think the muscle fibrosis tethering to the dermis will resolve? Thanks!
In researching fat transfer (to the face) I've come across a few references to a blossoming that takes place after the blood supply to transferred fat is well established. Is there any consensus on this matter? Is there any scientific literature to support claims of blossoming? Can you share anecdotal evidence that you've seen in your practice? Thank you.
It's been exactly 19days since fat transfer to cheeks and my dog bumped into my face. I iced it right away thinking it'll help. Now I am afraid the fat will be gone. What r my chances of loosing the fat to the trauma area? And about when do u get blood supply to the newly injected fat? Thank you
A lot of doctors have been responding to patient questions with wait 3-6 months for the final result. I have seen this response re: worries of being overfilled & of losing all of the grafted fat. My question is, besides the decrease in swelling & the reabsorption of dead fat, what happens to the actual fat cells that survive? Does gaining a blood supply do anything other than maintain? Do they become more plump/grow by 6 months? Do they shrink? Stay the same? There isn't a lot of info on this.
many people say fat grafting on the upper eyelid only last for 2-3 years and many doctors say it is permanent. i understand that if there's no blood supply to fats, it will be absorbed. but what i dont understand is, how can it be absorbed after 2-3 years? unless it takes 2-3 years for the fats to get blood supply, if not, how can the survived fats later be absorbed again.
