I had my otoplasty ( ear pinning ) surgery performed 4 weeks ago on both ears. One ear was very large and stuck out, but the other ear was what I considered normal but my surgeon insisted I neeeded both done. After the bandage was removed I noticed straight away my ear was still large and the other ear so flat to my head. I also have stitches still poking out which is causing discomfort. The surgeon is cancelling follow up appointments and is ignoring me. Please can I have some advice?
Its been 4 weeks now since I had my Otoplasty procedure (excised cartilage, permanent sutures). My ears now have some dry skin and feel a little itchy. I am using ear drops to deal with any build up of wax in my ear canals, but how should I clean the rest (external parts) of my ears and behind them? They are still a little tender and bruised so am very conscious not to touch them. I want to maintain the hygiene of my ears so any advice gratefully received.
Had otoplasty 5 weeks ago; result looks unnatural; awkward look due to the hidden helix. When the dressing was removed after the surgery, my ears were very set back. Surgeon said the ears tend to move fwd, and he over corrected to accommodate. I'm anxious/ sad about whether this is my final result. How long before cartilage is done moving my ears fwd to show more helix? If this is my final result, are there options to surgically revise? sad about the procedure. Trying to contact surgeon.
Hey, one month after ear surgery and very unhappy with the results. I'm one month after my otoplasty. The healing process was not easy. I had a small hematoma on the left ear that the doctor drained. And overall very bruised and painful healing. Im experiencing pain even now and still feel uncomfortable to expose the ears in public. I'm now 4 weeks after and the results is very disappointing. The difference is barely there. I'm seeing my surgeon in one week. I would love to hear your opinion about the result so far. Thank you
Hello. I had my ears pinned back around 4-5 weeks ago using the stitch method. Have my ears set where they will stay or is there a chance they could start sticking out further? If they can still move how long will it be before movement isn't a risk anymore?
I had otoplasty for right ear 1 month back..the surgery was about folding the helical rim(Stahl's ear)..after the surgery the surgeon has not yet done well.. now my ears looks unnatural and bump like structure in top on helical...I disappointed with this...so can I go with follow up or revision otoplasty?
Im 37 days post otoplasty surgery. I think that my ears are too close to my head. Do you think that they are too close? Will my ears open more?(especially the top part). If so, how many mm would they open up? Note: My surgery was done with traditional method.
My Surgeon Used Dissovable Sutures Externally And Internally i am not sure what sutures were used, I Am Current 5 Weeks Post Op My Ears Look Like They Are Symmetrical Sometimes And Thrn Sometimes They Don't I'm Scared My Ears Will Go Back To Normal, Also My Right Ear Is still swollen will my ear go back after swelling or spring forward a bit ? When can I sleep without a headband ?
I had otoplasty done a month ago. I believe they put permanent sutures on the inside to keep my ear permanently pinned, but there are stitches on outside as well. They said these stitches were dissolvable but they are not dissolving or going away. Is this normal, and if not, what should I do?
