Reloxin (called Dysport in Europe) is an injection that is similar to Botox that is not yet FDA-approved in the US. The effort to introduce Dysport to the US market is underway, with Medicis (which sells Restylane and Perlane), seeking US FDA approval to distribute Dysport under the name Reloxin. Like Botox, Reloxin (Dysport) is a protein extracted from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum (Botulinum toxin A). Reloxin temporarily freezes the muscles you use during frowning. Thus, Reloxin smooths facial lines and wrinkles and lasts approximately 4 months.
