I am 60 year old female. I am in need of dental implants. I was wearing a removable partial denture that I have now lost. In the process, I've also expereinced a broken front tooth. I visited my general dentist and they said that insurance wil not approve another partial denture based on scans and I need either dentures or implants. It is very difficult to afford in NYC and I have visited several doctors to get separate opinions.
I'm a 62 years old woman due to have a mini dental implant on upper 1st premolar. I have used a flexible denture for 15 years for the gap. I have good bone height but it thins out in the centre which is too thin for regular implant. My dentist assures me that the mini will last as long as normal implant and be strong enough for tooth crown. I'm unsure. Your opinion would be appreciated.
57 y.o. perimenopausal with severe bone loss and periodontal disease around one tooth; they feel it needs to be pulled and grafted. There is another loose tooth on the other side of the mouth without bone disease. This is all since my last years exam which was stable with 2mm gum depth. Gum depth is bad at the 2 loose teeth but remains 2-3 in all other areas. I'm iron deficient but otherwise healthy. No change in diet or hygiene habits; are there systemic health issues I need to address?
I have limited use of my arms/hands, and cannot brush my teeth. My dentist has recommended that my teeth be removed and implants put in, due to severe gum disease. (I am 63, male, diabetic.) He said that would cure the gum disease, but I have read that people with implants can still get bad gum infections if they don't brush.
I'm 60 had a molar extracted a year ago, upper left, was told by my brother NY dentist must have implant due to shifting teeth, lower tooth will rise to meet space, trow my bite off. I had 2 bone grafts. My own dentist said I don't have any shifting, lower tooth hasn't risen, probably won't that I don't need it. Who is correct? I'm grinding my teeth a little as well. Could I wear a bite plate every night instead of implant to prevent any of the above problems?
Hi, I am a 57 year old woman who at the present time my teeth are so loose that I can't even bite down on a slice of bread without having pain or fear that they will fall out. I don't want dentures I do want implants but I'm told that I can't get implants because I have no bone. But I've heard that you can get implants without bone can you please help me
I am a 57 year old woman. I was told by one dentist I would need full sinus lift and by another dentist that a sinus pop up would be fine. Can you please explain the pros and cons of each.
My dentist said one of my upper teeth needs removing (right of to the gap - see photo) because of bone loss and gum disease. It has stop bleeding since I have been treating it daily as prescribed but my dentist says it is too late. I am 56 & would like to close the gap 4mm gap ( measurement taken from base of teeth) & do not want to wear dentures so would like to know what my options are.
