its been three and half months post dental implant and an temporary cap is n place. I still fell sensation when I touch the gum or the cap. Is this common? Also, I am smoking three cigarettes per day and I am more concerned if it has affected the teeth.
Abutment screw or implant--see pic--fell out last week. Perio had difficulty w/ implant procedure, b/c my mouth opening is very restricted by TMJ. (1.5 yrs ago, perio did bone graft during extraction, & this time did a sinus lift.) So, if it's just the screw, great..but not prepared to redo procedure. Was painful & neighboring tooth has gotten looser since. Knowing implant fell out once gives me doubt re: either ability of perio or my ability structurally to retain an implant in that area.
Its been 3 months that I've had my dental implants i have 2 of them on the top of my mouth and the one on my right side ive notice today is feeling weird. when i push on the gum i feel pressure and a little pain, but the one on the left side feels normal. Im so scared and i don't want my implant to be rejecting is there anyway my implant can still be saved if it is infected? I'm going to go to the dentist after this weekend i just need some advice I'm having terrible anxiety from this
Tooth #8 extraction and implant occurred on the same day (7/6/2016). Healing seemed to be going okay, but when I followed up with my surgeon on 10/24/16 he said that bone growth was immature. He suggested that I wait another 3 months before uncovering and take a daily vitamin D supplement. Is this normal. I used to smoke weed, but I have since stopped. Is my implant in early failure? There is currently no swelling, puss or redness. I didn't have this issue with an implant on tooth #9 4 years ago
I got dental implant for my front tooth 3.5 month ago and gum around implant area is still red. In the begging of my treatment doc told me it will eventually turn to normal pink clr but it didn't. Also after last time my doctor removed temp tooth for check little bit of pus started coming out from under my gum. Since I noticed it I visited my doc 2 times he gave me ointment , did XRay and assured me that everything if fine. But after 2 weeks little bit of pus keep coming out . What should I do ?
I got an implant on 42 back in September. In November, the implant was still a little loose so the implantologist tightened it in hopes that it would stick. A few days later it became even loser and it was hurting. My implant was taken out in order to prevent some sort of infection. Now, my periodontist says I have to wait a year in order to place a new implant because I had no bone. Is there any other option for me? How long do I have to wait? What's the normal time for replacing an implant?
