My screw retained implant crown was installed May 2016. January 2023 while getting my cleaning done, I was told it was loose. Dentist said he couldn't tighten it & broke it off. He said it came loose because he put too short of an abutment. Said he was re-doing so this wouldn't happen again. He re-cemented it in May 2023. Never discussed with me that he was cementing it and why. It continues to fall out. Now he says he wasn't able to use screw retained but never discussed with me.
I recently got my crown replaced because cavity was developing under neath and would like to know if the dentist placed it properly. There is a small space between my gum line and the crown. Does this need to be placed again properly? Worries about future cavities and gum disease
I had crowns on my front 6 teeth 3 years ago due to root canals and aesthetics. 1.5 years ago, my gums swelled and bled. A periodontist fixed them with crown lengthening, but now they're swollen again. The periodontist suggests replacing the bulky crowns to fully resolve the issue. I'm worried about my in-person sales job and wonder if the treatment will require prolonged time off
I knocked both front teeth out when I was younger and had root canals performed. 20 years later I finally had my crowns redone to look better. One tooth is dark and it is showing through. So far, they look great in bright natural light but the one tooth looks dark in dim lighting or inside lighting. Is there a way to cover the darkness of the tooth before the crown goes on to mask it? Also, are these too short?
I have extreme anxiety and am also in recovery for an eating disorder so the thought of further restricting my food is making me panic. My dentist said I need 2 crowns. Both on my upper jaw, one on my second premolar on my right side and the other on my second premolar on my left, Ive been told by friends and family that have crowns they they can eat pretty much anything minus caramel, gum, and rocks but Im still terrified. Can I eat essentially anything with my crown?
I have needed a decent bit of dental work done. I found a great dentist, but they were expensive. After having some work done by them, I ended up switching to a dentist that was closer and more cost effective. The crown work by the new dentist was awful, I constantly had food getting stuck and it looked bad. I have been dizzy, nauseous and exhausted for a few months and after having loads of tests done with my physician and no answers, I am wondering if it could relate to the crown
I have recently got 2 crowns done. And they both have a gab between the gum line and crown margin. Also the bite went slightly forward and the top teeth do no ho over the new crowns like they do on the other side. Instead they are hitting the crowns. I got them redone but there was not much of a change and now the doctor is telling me that he will not be redoing these crowns and that they are done correctly and wont refund me either.
Im Lola , Im twenty six years old . Im a teacher and also an entrepreneur. I just got an apicoectomy on my front tooth and I havent gotten a crown on the tooth . Is it advisable to get a crown immediately or should I wait until months later ? Also I could still feel some tenderness on my gum due to the apicoectomy done five weeks ago . Is that normal ?
I have had my zirconium crowns (10 upper and 10 lower) for 4 years, no issues. I returned to the same practise for a check up, who advised they are more than happy with the oral hygiene and only slight adjustments/polish was made. I was very anxious and sought a 2nd opinion, where the 2nd dentist adjusted my bite as he said I had high points when biting (from the biting papers). He filed the crowns down, which now feel very rough . I am frightened that they are damaged :( Marks can be seen?
