I am 38 years old and recently cracked my back left molar. The dentist I visited fit a temporary crown and referred me to an oral surgeon to have my wisdom tooth removed before fitting for a permanent crown. The oral surgeon doesn't want to remove the tooth due to my age and the potential for nerve damage based on my xrays. The dentist now wants me to visit a different oral surgeon that will remove the tooth. Who should I trust more?
Recently I got My 2 front tooth crowned but I do not like the colour and shape ( as it dark and shows black triangles). He said he can redo them for me but he suggested that it may end up with a root canal as he need to drill off the crown and the nerve are very fragile. Is This right? He said alternatively he could rough the crown surface and add a layer of the filling material to change the color and also patch up the black triangles. Is This a good idea?
I know there are a few nerves in the face esp the trigeminal nerve, could it be possible to hit the end edge during crowns? Ive had horrible pain for almost a year now. Ive gone to every type of doctor possible. I have pain from where tmj starts to my neck where I swallow. I saw ent, vascular and my primary. The end result; now Im on gabapentin in which it helps somewhat. Would I ever gain full ROM without pain ever? I need more dental work but Im scared
Root canal=Jan+Feb/18. Had pain/sensitivity, so filling was taken out--medicine in--medicine out-- filling in + 3x antiobiotics --wait 2mo--crown Apr/18. Jul/18=started getting symptoms that seem to get worse: When touching left side of chin or bottom lip=chin tingling...sometimes chin feels cold in places. Endodontist said to see neurologist...Dentist=x-ray tooth, said it is ok, doesn't know what is wrong. Neurologist said it might take 6-9 more months to improve, but not sure if temp/perm...
A little over ten years ago I found out that I had a damaged nerve on one of my two front teeth, I was told that I need a root canal & veneer. My mother then prompted me to a second opinion, to which I was told not to worry. I believe the nerve is dead and calcified. I was talking to someone who urged me to go see a dentist immediately. I have very slight discoloration, but other then that feel fine. I no longer have dental insurance, but I am very concerned that I may urgently need to go.
