My dentist wants to install 6 crowns on my worn lower front teeth, Nos. 22-27, all at the same time. There is no doubt that the work needs to be done, but is this typical to do 6 at the same time? After that he will do the four upper teeth Nos. 8-11. Do you see any issues for a 73 year old male in reasonably good health to have this done? Thanks
For many years, one of my front teeth is a crown. It came off several years ago and was re-cemented. Three weeks ago, it came off when the pin broke at the gum line. As a temporary measure, it was re-cemented but with a splint on the back side (attaching to teeth on either side) for additional support. I have a consult scheduled for tomorrow re: implant. At 66 yrs., any suggestions? Can the broken pin be removed/replaced with a new/larger one and my crown be re-attached? Thanks
My back upper molar (#2) had root canal 12 years ago. Crown came off 2 years ago and was cemented back on. Came off again one month ago. There is very little/no tooth structure above gum line. Dentist recommended extraction with implant. I have researched implants and find that posterior upper molars are difficult and involve bone grafting. I am 69 years old. If the root is determined to be in good condition, isn't it advisable to try post and crown on this upper tooth?
