Am I Immune to Botox?
ORIGINAL POST
Right before Christmas I had Botox injections...
$390
Right before Christmas I had Botox injections between my eyes to get rid of those pesky frown lines. I wanted to look good for the family portrait but was also taking it slow, since I’ve never done any cosmetic procedures before, so I only got a low dose.
I didn’t see any results within the ten day window I was told about so I went back to double my dosage in the same area. Again, nothing. I was a little taken aback when this happened and also very disappointed to have spent what could have been Christmas money on literally nothing. When I called the clinic they were nice about it but wanted to charge me for more Botox when what they had given already wasn’t working! I at least expected a discount, not to be treated as a new, full-price patient. To be fair they were really nice about the whole thing and wanted me to be a satisfied customer, but I guess they don’t want to lose money. I can’t blame them; I didn’t like losing money on this experience either.
Long story short, today I still have prominent frown lines in between my eyes and if I try then I can make them much worse. I’m disheartened that I’m the only person who can’t seem to get Botox to work, even after I did everything I could (chose a reputable clinic, was clear about what I wanted to change, etc). I could even deal with results that didn’t live up to my expectations, but to not have it work at all? It’s very frustrating.
I haven’t decided yet if I’ll go back and try again later. It’ll probably be a waste of money.
