Hello, I'm a 48 year old HIV+ woman and for years I've been extremely subconscious about the cellulite on my thighs and buttocks. I've heard of ultrasonic cavitation and surgery scares me. However, I've heard about the contraindications for autoimmune diseases. I've researched this often and I've been unable to locate a concise answer. I'm currently on my HIV medications and I'm fully treatment adherent. Is it possible for me to have this procedure done at all? Thanks for the response.
Have been taking regimen for hiv therapy for 14 yrs. Belly fat is a side effect. It just won't seem to go away and is pretty rigid. It's getting hard to even tie my shoes sometimes. Exercise has done nothing. Could this be considered medically necessary to get insurance coverage?
I recently saw a plastic surgeon who felt a non-invasive procedure would be better. She was able to grab at least 2-3 inches of excess fat/skin. I don't want this type of fat to be too dense and not show any results. At the same time she admitted not having any experience with HIV patients and I don't want her intimidation of my status to influence a non invasive technique. I truly want this fat gone for self esteem issues.
