Rough skin appeared after 1 month below the lower lip. The opening for the chin implant would not heal for 6 months, staying red and no scar. The picture shown here is after 2 yrs, the rough skin persists and the wound is in grey indicating healed. When pinching the chin area, it hurts. Occasional sharp nerve pain. and itch still. My implant teeth #29 #30 failed and had to re-do and of course with lots of antibiotics. Is my implant healed?
I had a chin implant 4 years ago. Ive had 4 implant revisions since (yes, I know... a lot). Since Ive had the implant, Ive had persistent redness. It looks ridiculous because the rest of my skin is very pale. No amount of skincare or sunscreen seems to make it better. It also really distorts my chin and makes it look bigger than it really is, which is a problem as I feel its dangerously close to being too big as it is. I dont know how to make this better.

I've been on amoxcillin for 6 days, and the redness has changed (disappeared in some places and appeared in others) but hasn't clearly subsided. Questions: How will I know if the infection is of the implant or incision, and whether it has been resolved by antibiotics? And how long would this usually take?

I will get some random swelling and pain from time to time on either side but for two weeks straight I have had excruciating pain on one side. I can feel a large lump on the edge of the implant and it almost feels like the edge isn't laying flush with my bone anymore. And now there appears to be a red mark kind of spidering out from the lump. Is this an infection of some sort or has my implant just moved? Will it heal on its own?
I ha a chin implant 4days ago (through the mouth) and I still keep swelling as I THE chin and the area under and around it is going to explode. A bit warm to touch but no redness or bruising. Is this normal? I do feel weak and sick especially after taking the antibiotic and the painkillers. Is all this swelling normal?
4 weeks ago,i had a surgery with medpor chin implant (submental).One week later,under the lips, it became reddish after the bath and sometimes itchy ( wings and bottom side is normal). My scar looks normal.No pus, swelling,pain, warmth.I took cipro for one week just for protection ( My Doc. said).And still same.its not clearly visible on photos.Is this infection or just skin problem?And if i wanna go for sliding genioplasty years later, removal and sliding can be in one surgery?
