Over 20 years ago, my doctor inserted a chin implant, while I was also undergoing rhinoplasty. However, my whole chin is starting to look deformed. My blood tests came back as uncertain for scleroderma, in addition to similar diseases. What procedures could correct this deformity? Thank you for your time.
Help? As I age, my chin is becoming more box-like/masculine and prominent. I had an Implantech size Large Chin Implant placed sub-mental 20 years ago. Is it best to remove this sub-mental or intra-oral? Is replacement using a smaller implant or fat going to be sufficient? Will skin form back to face or are other procedures required to address skin elasticity? Any complications I should consider before making this decision?
I had a chin implant put in 20 years ago that Id like removed. Do I have to worry about erosion or something else? I think the implant was silicone but Im not totally sure. It was put in in 1999. I just want to look like my old self again, without any implants. How can I find out ahead of surgery if there is erosion or other damage?
XL goretex chin implant placed 18 years ago.The implant moved to the right and up shortly after surgery and I have dealt with it malpostioned since.I'm considering implant removal and replacement (preferably with silastic). There seems to be varying opinions on the removal of gore tex and I would like to get opinions as to the risks(pros/cons) of gore tex removal as I think there could be a good aesthetic gain.I also have a concern about potential resorption due to the existing implant position
I like the difference it has made in my profile but each year I becoming increasingly aware that it has affected my smile. I no longer can give a complete smile and trying makes me look like im grimacing
I had a silicone chin implanted 20 years ago. As I would like to have it changed for a bigger one I went to consult a ps. He told he has never seen such a big bone erosion and I should consult a maxillofacial surgeon. This doctor wants to remove the implant and in another surgery do a osteotomy to advance the chin. Is the erosion this big? Should the implant be really removed? Is the osteotomy necessary or I could go with a newer better located implant?
After 18 years (im 37) the scar tissue may have hardened. It feels different, tighter and less pliable, with the occassional ache. Also, if I decide to have it taken out, could I leave in the scar tissue, and would it augment the original receded chin? Are there any complications I should know about? It is a small silicone implant. Many thanks
