I had a chin implant 12 months ago. I cant see my teeth when I smile and I have to open my mouth to look normal in photos. Also noticed dynamic chin ptosis have developed. I have pain on the right side of my implant, which was treated for 5 weeks with antibiotics, with no success. If the implant is removed, will my smile return to normal and the pain go away? Ive also developed dynamic chin ptosis. Will that subside after removal as well?
My nose is very upright and the chin doesnt appear large enough to overcome my initial desire to improve my profile. - I would like your thoughts on the outcome. I appreciate that it is better than before however, I expected it to be more of an enhancement than the result, hence my disappointment. What do you think? Will the nose settle after a while (currently only 4 weeks post op) and do you think I require a larger implant?
1 mo. ago received an Implantech medium ext. anatomical chin implant. Based on specs, the small is only .5 mm smaller in projection but smaller all the way around in width and a bit shorter from top to bottom. If I am ok with the projection of the medium but unhappy with the final shape it takes (thinking thickness from top to bottom) @ 3 months out, it seems the small will sacrifice little in projection, but may offer the more subtle finer change needed in shape. Is this a fair assessment?
5 wks post op from a chin implant placed under the chin. It looks great although I can feel the wing in my gums on the side, on the same side I had numbness and and paralysis which just this week is starting to subside.surgeon assured me it was fine the wing that Im feeling just anchors the implant? He says if it starts to irritate me he can make an incision inside the mouth and cut the wing? Really not wanting to get another surgery. I also feel a tight muscle in my lip. Should I be concerned?
1 month post op rhinoplasty + chin implant. Silicone type 1 size 2. Incision under chin. While I am very happy with my nose, I am really struggling with my chin. It adds too much projection, is rounded, sticks out in a way that doesnt suit me. I know there is swelling, but while my nose has changed a lot over last month, my chin hasnt changed much. Im worried it wont change enough and that I should get it removed sooner than later? Also both my chin profiles look quite different?
3.5 weeks post-op chin implant redness appeared around the incision. Surgeon said it's infected but wasn't clear if it was the incision or the implant. I've been on amoxcillin for 3 days (dosages approx. 5 hours apart), and the redness hasn't changed. How will I know if the infection is of the implant or incision, and whether it has been resolved by antibiotics? And how long would this usually take?
Received xl flower chin implant 5 weeks ago. Left side has been healing nicely no issues. Right side there was more swelling, lot more numbness ( to this day) . Started feeling pain when talking around 3-4 weeks post. Now is a bit more manageable but still uncomfortable . When I touch the right side I feel a bump above my jaw that is tender. I also feel it inside of my mouth under my gum . No fever, not hot to touch. Is this just swelling or is the chin implant crooked?
4wk post op. Submental Silicone .wing of my chin implants sits too high. I can feel it near my gum and can and see from outside too under certain light angle and facial expression. On the other hand, I can still touch and feel my jawline (the bottom edge of the jawbone). I believe my surgeon didn't place it correctly but he said that's where is supposed to be and he's not gonna do anything with it. My question is: can I message the implant to stretch the pocket downward.
I removes my chin implant its been 5weeks i used compression band first 2weeks everday and nite. My chin is still huge compared to my original chin. Should i start to wear comprassion band again? Does compression garment help muscles and tissues shrink back and attach the bone? Or is it unnecessery or harmfull after the 5th weeks of removal?
