I recently had a consult with a cosmetic dermatologist who recommended a Cosmelan chemical peel for hyperpigmentation. It was performed by the aesthetician who did Step 1 in office and I was told to apply step 2 once daily for days 2-14. I am currently on day 13 and I've noticed that my skin is very light in areas, which appears blotchy and it it remains dark in the same areas as before. Only, this time, I can't tell if it's working or actually making my skin worse. Should I discontinue use?
I went to a dermatologist, a little over a year ago to have a chemical peel on my chest and arms. I was under the impression that she was going to start with a lighter peel, but when we finishe, she told me I was treated with a 30 percent TCA peel. After healing, my arms still look blotchy and the pigment is uneven. I am topically treating with teritonon, and HQ (8 percent). Are there any other protocols that would be good to try?
I had a lactic acid peel done today by an esthetician in a plastic surgeons medspa. I believe she used 70% lactic acid and then some enzyme mask which burned even more than the lactic acid. I started noticing some red spots when I got home and now Im worried if its going to cause permanent scarring or hyperpigmentation. The red blotchy spots are on both cheeks , under the eyes. Do I need to go see a doctor ASAP or does this look normal after a peel? I always wear sunscreen.
Recently, I've used a chemical peel called UK derm erase solution. It is on a roller ball and it says it treat scars. So, I used it (because I have so many spots and scars). After 2 days, my skin starts to peel. But, I pick the dead skin off (always a habit which is really bad). Then a pink blotch of skin appears and I assure that it will heal. I was freaking out! I put Sebo de Macho (moisturizer) ALWAYS on my skin, fearing of having large scars. HELP!
Although I realize that squeezing blackheads is tremendously bad for your skin, I have gotten in the habit of doing so for the past couple of months. I began squeezing blackheads on my nose, then chin and even my forehead. Now my skin is uber dry and even cracked in some areas (chin and nose mostly), and my forehead has significant damage in the form of red blotches (not protruding) on the surface. What is the best way to treat my damaged skin? Masks? Peels? Nothing seems to be working.
