I had my breast reduction five weeks ago. At week two I noticed the beginning of some splitting in the incisions. Now these wounds are completely open, no bleeding anymore and some brownish discharge still. I've been using wet gauze every day, but I am worried about how slowly they're healing. I am a non smoker. I am also worried about excessive scarring. Will I need a scar revision?
I am 7 weeks post breast reduction op and all is going well except where the vertical scar meets the horizontal scar under my left breast. This area has become open in appearance, yellow with a white surround. It is moist and doesnt hurt but despite wearing inadine dressing for 10 days (changing daily) it is still open. What is the best way to help this wound heal? Im worried it is or will become infected. My nurse says it isnt but why will it not heal?
I had my surgery on 3/7. Necrosis set in and I had burn like wounds on my breast. The left was far worst and I almos lost my nipple. The wound on the outside took so long to heal that a second surgery was done. Fat necrosis was in the breast and very firm. Now my left breast is larger then the right. In the right the side is still very tender and I cant bring my arms together in front because its feels funny and cant lie on my sides. Could my experience been prevented and will I need revision
Based on many experiences I've read on this site, it seems like it is not uncommon for an opening/wound separation to appear somewhere along incisions (especially by the t site). What causes this to occur, and when should I be concerned? More importantly, how can it be prevented?
I am 9wks post op breast reduction. I have had delayed wound healing to my left breast. My surgeon said it is related to large amt of tissue removed and related tissue necrosis. He has repeatedly assured me it will heal and I be told to just keep clean and dry. Today it seems to have a hole near bottom of incision. I am worried.
T wounds are also deep and seem to be getting wider there, but there is no sign of infection. I continue to do the once a day dressing of of the incisions after shower with Aquaphor, treated (yellow) gauze strips, and gauze pads under the compression bra given me by my doc. I feel well other than slightly worried about the very slow healing. Does this all sound normal?
Hello, I am currently 6 weeks post-op from a breast reduction with gummy implants. I seem to be spitting stitches and have been doing so for about 4 weeks. I have been in contact with my surgeon and he reassured me that everything is fine, and my body is just trying to get rid of stitches and that I do not show signs of infection. I am, however, very anxious as I seem to have elevated skin inside the wound. I would just like a second opinion. Thank you in advance.
I had a breast reduction just over a month ago, and around 2 weeks post op I noticed a small break in the incision, this has now opened up even more to over an inch, and is very painful. I know this is a common complication, but the fact that it keeps splitting even more is worrisome, and I would like it to stop as this is already making my scars way worse (I am only 20 yrs old). Please tell me how I can stop it from splitting even more!!!
I had breast reduction surgery on the 5th of this month. On the 18th they removed the stitches. On the 19th the t-section started to bleed. Saw the plastic surgeon on the 22nd. She packed the wound and said there was a tunnel going to the right of my breast. I am instructed to change the packing once daily. Is there anything else I can do to speed up healing?
