I had a Breast reduction May 19, 2009 and my doctor told me that he used dissolvable stitches. I assumed that by now being almost 8 weeks out that the clear stitches he used would have already dissolved. I have several that are visible outside of the skin and one spot that is really red. It almost looks like how a pimple looks but it’s irritated and hurts because its embedded weirdly in my skin.Today, I went to see my doctor and he removed the painful stitch and it felt much better. Now I noticed the pain is back again and I can feel another stitch in the same spot he removed it from earlier. It is kind of buried in the skin and in order to remove it you have to stick tweezers into the pimple looking wound. What do I do to make them dissolve?
My surgery was 2.5 weeks ago. I was instructed to use paper tape over my vertical incision. I have a lollipop reduction. I had the paper tape on for the last week and removed it yesterday to clean and change it. I felt a sharp stitch poking through the incision on the second two pics. I also noticed a small hole forming on the first two pics. I phone the office and they said ps was away until Monday next week. I have to wait. Does this look like immediate attention is needed or can it wait?
Hello- I'm wondering if anyone else experienced anything like this. I had a breast reduction in March 2019 and just a few weeks ago suddenly I noticed two small scabs on the scar under my breast. It feels like some stitches worked their way out or something but I thought the stitches would surely have dissolved by now! Is this a thing?
I am a week post OP from my breast reduction. My dr did not do an anchor incision. I saw him two days ago and he said we are leaving the tape on. My problem is the tape they used is very sticky and leaving residue to where lint and clothing sticks to it. I was wondering can I take the tape off, clean the area and use tegaderm to replace the old tape? So it wont cause clothing and the bra to stick anymore?
Hello. I am 17 days Breast Reduction Post-op. Of course I'm still swollen and have discomfort. I have edema in both breast and have sharp shooting pains several times a day. Also, my right breast seems to have NON oozing puss. My Dr.said it could be puss or even breast tissue poking out due to split stitches. He also said not to massage yet or ice my breast. I keep the incisions clean & use pure vitamin E oil daily per surgeons instructions any suggestions?
Hi I had a breast reduction on dec 21 2021, I am fully healed and feel fine I noticed two of my stitches were raised and when prodded/squeezed, white stuff would come out . I went to the doctor and she said its fine and to squeeze it out and gave me topical antibiotics. Its been about a month and theres still white stuff coming out of the stitches holes kind of like a pimple. they were dissolvable stiches. so im wondering is it fine or is something wrong thank you
I am 4 weeks PO and my surgeon has seen me weekly. As of last week I still had a floating scab on it. Now its open with white flesh looking stuff and I can see the stitch at the top. I emailed him a picture yesterday and he assured me it was fine. Im supposed to use neosporin twice a day on it and just wait for it to close. This seems like itll never close.
Hello, I am currently 6 weeks post-op from a breast reduction with gummy implants. I seem to be spitting stitches and have been doing so for about 4 weeks. I have been in contact with my surgeon and he reassured me that everything is fine, and my body is just trying to get rid of stitches and that I do not show signs of infection. I am, however, very anxious as I seem to have elevated skin inside the wound. I would just like a second opinion. Thank you in advance.
I had breast reduction surgery on the 5th of this month. On the 18th they removed the stitches. On the 19th the t-section started to bleed. Saw the plastic surgeon on the 22nd. She packed the wound and said there was a tunnel going to the right of my breast. I am instructed to change the packing once daily. Is there anything else I can do to speed up healing?
I am travelling on a long flight (24 hours) on August 6th. I want to get the surgeries done before leaving, preferably on 19th or 20th of July. How long after the surgery will my stitches be removed? I won't be back in the country for another year or so. How often do I have to keep visiting my doctor? Will the foreign doctors agree to see me in case I need help?
