Im 19 and Im getting a breast reduction this Tuesday Im extremely excited but also terrified.. I occasionally smoke marijuana but never any cigarettes, Im not over weight but I do eat a lot of junk and dont drink enough water :( Im really nervous that Im not going to wake up because Im not the healthiest. Ive been put under recently and it was fine. I also have a fixed heart murmur and my family doctor said it should be fine... what are my chances of death?
While it is ideal to stop smoking prior to a procedure, I find it discriminating to refuse surgery to an active smoker. My friend, (an alcoholic) went through surgery without a question. A Colleague, (pot smoker), not a problem. Me, who wants a breast reduction, has been turned away from Ontario surgeons. I'm in pain, and find my relief (albeit sad), in smoking instead of popping pills... Perhaps if I felt better and wasn't in constant back pain, I'd be more encouraged to quit....
I'm very stressed just found out my grandmother has 2 weeks to live and I badly want to smoke how long should I wait to smoke I just had my surgery on he 23rd I just want one black and mild to come my stress down how long before I can smoke it or weed
Ok so I was told to quit smoking 2 days prior to surgery and 2 weeks after which I thought would be a piece of cake because I have wanted this breast reduction since I was 15. However, I'm am struggling very badly and have slipped up prior and post surgery. I have only had a few and the temptation is around me 24/7 because my fianc smokes as well as a majority of close family and friends that I am around pretty much on a daily basis. What I want to know is that how harmful would it be to my recovery if I just smoked 2 or 3 ultra light cigs a day? My normal daily average of smoking before surgery was less than 10 a day. I don't have the desire to quit right now but I do want to quit by the time I'm 30 (I'm 26 right now). I can't fight the temptation and I've read mixed articles on the issue. What do I do?! Are my nipples or incisions really going to get infected if I smoke a few cigs a day? This is the only bad habit I have! I don't drink or do drugs and I exercise 5 days a week, so other than smoking I'm pretty healthy.
