I had my breast surgery in 2018 and my surgeon had to correct something months later. In the first surgery he did reconstruct the breasts. The second, he cut and repositioned the nipples only. I lost all sensation. Not only that but he STILL left the nipples too high and to close to the center of my body. I haven't felt comfortable since and I wanted to know if it's safe/a good idea to go to a different surgeon to reposition my nipples and possibly repair nerves to regain sensation.
Dr. Brantner done my reduction 19 years ago and I only had a small amount of nerve pain. The only time I've had a lot is in extremely cold weather when I have been out for prolonged periods. I also only had a few very small numb spots. I have started getting a lot of nerve pain in my left breast on the lower left side. Is this normal after 19 years?
Is there any medical reasons for surgeons to reduce the areola size during a breast reduction? I wear a 16E size bra and have very long breast. One is 3.5cm longer than the other. My areolas are 6cm wide. I'm concerned about any complications concerning nipple loss, and nerve damage. I've only just learned we have montgomery glands around the areola. Do the montgomery glands get removed during a breast reduction? Do we need them? Can I get a breast reduction without areola reduction? Thanks
No drains were placed. At 2wks I had lots of tension, blisters & necrosis on 1 breast. Breast now has a painful burning sensation at the base of the T incision when I touch, stand straight or lay flat. I can palpate 2 painful bands on my abdomin that connect to the necrosis areas. Dr. injected a steroid into the area & I've felt little relief so far. He says nerves could be scarred. Is this fixable? Are internal sutures causing the burning tension? I'll mark where the painful bands are in pic.
I am 20 years old, 5'3, 107lbs and my breast size is a 30 DDD. This shoulder, upper back, and neck pain has always been an issue and an extreme inconvenience for me. To complicate things more, I injured my arm and shoulder. I have a torn rotator cuff, carpal tunnel syndrome, pinched nerves/nerve damage (all located on my right side) and recently developing arthritis in my neck. I have Texas Medicaid. I haven't brought up my breast size in doctors visits but I believe a reduction is necessary.
