I had drain tubes placed, stayed overnight in hospital and had them removed the next day before discharge. At 2 week recheck I was still having a small amount of drainage from the left side, but was told everything looks fine. I mentioned an uncomfortable popping feeling on my left side that feels like a rib is popping out of place when I walk. The doctor I saw said oh, thats too bad and otherwise blew it off. What is the popping and should I get it checked again with different doctor?
I had a breast reduction Nov. 21, was healing great until about two weeks ago when a small hole appeared my left breast. I called my surgeon the next day and they said everything I described as normal, just drainage, but its been two weeks now and the hole appears bigger! Its draining yellow pus, no foul odor, and Im not experiencing any sickness so I dont think I have an infection, Im just concerned with how it is healing. Should I schedule an appt?
It's been draining pretty bad since the first surgery and started to again 2 days after the second surgery. It also has a funky odor. Is this normal and how long should it take for it to stop draining? It only happened on the right side and the left side has been perfect.
I am currently POD #17 from a bilateral breast reduction, uncomplicated and everything went as planned. I had my steri strips removed yesterday, and have dissolvable stitches. Upon returning home, I can now see at the bottom of my left breast on the T-junction there is an open area, with white/yellow tissue that is slightly draining (I have gauze placed over top). I have been applying vaseline to my incisions. I am wondering if this is an infection? I will be seeing my surgeon in 2 days.
Post BR 3.5 months. On my LUQ (directly on my side, about 4 below my furthest surgical incision, is a pinkish discoloration and a palpable lump. Has been there for 6 weeks. Breast doc said she felt it was unrelated to surgery. Primary care doc had an US and CT done. CT report says peripherally calcified nodule in left flank which could have been a hematoma. Is this a) a big deal?; b) likely from drainage post-surgery? And is there anything I need to do about it? PC doc seems unknowledgeable.
I am not too concerned about the incision opening itself, it's not infected, no more drainage, no odor, etc. however I remember reading that if there is a visible stitch it could delay healing and cause complications. I canceled my appt with my surgeon because I think it looks fine and it's already healing, but is the visible stitch concerning?
8 months ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer on my left side & I had a surgery. Then I had a 2nd surgery to remove my lymph nodes followed by chemotherapy .On 7/2/17, I had breast reduction on my unaffected side. It has been 2weeks & still have painful large open wound, necrosis & fat drainage below my right breast where the Tzone meet. We clean the wound 4 times a day+nonstick gauze +taking antibiotic. The wound was small & it started growing larger. Any guidance is immensely appreciated.
I had a breast reduction 6/27 the day after my left breast had swollen to double the size of the right breast. My surgeon surgically drained the hematoma in his office as I had eaten and couldn't be taken into surgery. Now my left nipple feels weird and my left breast aches. The nipple has sensation but it has multiple cracks in the Areola. Their are no steri strips on this breast.
I am almost three weeks post op. I had a breast reduction and lift. I have had a slight yellow drainage from both breasts. Mostly from the horizontal incision. Last week I started seeing openings with a white matter inside. My breasts feel very tight and full. I am also getting an electric shock like feeling in my nipples. My doctors triage nurse said this is all normal. I am scared because it seems it's getting worse. I feel like I'm going to have a horrific scars. Is this normal?
