Hello Drs I have a problem I did a breast reduction 5 years ago had a spit stitch but it never bothered me and I assumed with time that the stitch would dissolve on it own and it never did now the spit stitch has flipped now on the inside on my boob and I can see the tiny little hole and the blue stitch itself and its been bothering me, can someone please direct to how to fix this and how much? My original has retired and referred to some colleagues but they were out of state.
I had breast reduction july 2022 using dissolvable staples. I had a lot of hypertrophic scarring and spitting staples and still feel the staples and see some where I had cortisone shot and the skin thinned. Is there any way to help them dissolve theyre still pretty intact.
I am 15 weeks post op and am wondering how long dissolvable staples and stitches take to actually dissolve. I saw my consultant this week who told me they will dissolve eventually but Im surprised I can still see them at this stage, is this normal? I massage my scars twice a day and they look ok but the bumps that are visible all along the horizontal scar lines are making me worry, shouldnt they be gone by now?
I am almost 3 weeks post op from a Breast reduction and lift. I am healing well with no complications but I can feel a little end of a disolvable stitch poking out under my breast just to the right of where my Anchor meets the lollipop stem. I would use sterilized tweezers to grasp the stitch and use sterilized scissors to snip it enough that it goes back under my skin. I think I could do it but not sure if I should.
My surgeon says- its a puckered areola. When the sutures dissolve the puckering will resolve. Thoughts? Also, asymmetrical breast. Prior to surgery I had fairly even breast- i had 800 grams removed from one and 850 from the other. Cause of current asymmetry? Thoughts? Obviously, following closely with my board certified surgeon, I would like other options.
I strongly feel that the lumps are a blood clot ( about the size of a golf ball maybe a bit bigger) Can you please tell me what is the best course of action to confirm if this is the case, do I need an x-ray? Do I need surgery to remove it? Or will it stay there & dissolve for its self? Can it cause me any further complications to my health or healing process? Can I fly long haul flights in the time being? I would really appreciate some professional advice, Thanks.
I have dissolvable internal stitches and only tape externally. One of my underneath scars hasn't quite fully healed as yet and I'm still getting a little blood on the gauze. How often should I shower?
I had a breast reduction six days ago, and everything seems to be going well. I have my first post-op appointment in two days, and am just wondering what to expect. I do not have drains, and I have dissolvable stitches.
I was reading some of the posts on realself and was concerned to hear that some patients have metal stitches that need to be taken out several days after surgery. They said it hurts. Why are all surgeons not using dissolvable stitches.
