Im trying to tell if this is a Keloid or a hypertrophic scar. Its from my breast reduction. My doctor said its Keloid, she hasnt seen it in person yet. My gyn also sid Keloid. From my research Id think its htpertrophic. But I dont have and MD. Surgery was 11/21/17. This became noticeably uncomfortable about 1/25/18
Its been two months since my breast reduction surgery and I wanted to know the best recommendations for treating my scars. I ordered ScarAway brand silicone patches but they got lost in the mail. I didnt wan to reorder from the same store so I thought Id ask for alternative and better options while Im at it. Please and thank you
I am 7 weeks post breast reduction op and all is going well except where the vertical scar meets the horizontal scar under my left breast. This area has become open in appearance, yellow with a white surround. It is moist and doesnt hurt but despite wearing inadine dressing for 10 days (changing daily) it is still open. What is the best way to help this wound heal? Im worried it is or will become infected. My nurse says it isnt but why will it not heal?
I am 9wks post op breast reduction. I have had delayed wound healing to my left breast. My surgeon said it is related to large amt of tissue removed and related tissue necrosis. He has repeatedly assured me it will heal and I be told to just keep clean and dry. Today it seems to have a hole near bottom of incision. I am worried.
I had a wise pattern/inferior pedicule breast reduction almost 7 weeks ago. No implants. 250gr removed from right breast and 450gr from left. Left breast tissues softened fairly quick but the vertical scar is still hard and tight at the bottom which is making my breast look boxier and cut in2 at the T junction. I massage the scars everyday but honestly, its looking worse by the minute.
I had my breast reduction almost 7 weeks ago, from 42H and aiming for a C. This morning I woke up with a burning, tearing sensation under my right breast, just below the scar. I have been applying cocoa butter 3x daily per my surgeons instructions. It looks almost like new stretch marks are forming under my breast. I'm concerned this may be a sign of infection. Is this normal or should I contact my doctor?
I had breast reduction surgery 3 years ago and ended up with undesired results. Two months ago I had a revision surgery with a visiting doctor who left the country. Im currently following up with another doctor but Im not sure Im receiving the best care. Four weeks after surgery, I started using silicone sheets for 12 hours and bio oil the rest of the day. Im really worried, are my areolas and breast contour going to improve or this is the final result?
More tissue was taken from the left than the right, but post-surgery, the right has been slightly smaller. It now seems the right has started to get a bit bigger. I have increased activity in the last week (just walking more; nothing crazy) and Im wondering if maybe this is a contributing factor. I was really pleased with my initial results, so the increasing size (be it through swelling or otherwise) has concerned me. Is there anything I should be doing to mitigate this? Thanks for your help!
I got a breast reduction done 2 months ago and I thought it was going well until I went for my post op & found out that I had open area. Immediately, I was confused, lost and depressed. I went from being a nurse to being disabled person in minutes and couldn't care for my self. Would it ever heal? Is this medical malpractice? If I go through another surgery what are the chances of positive result? Does this happen because of contamination & not following sterol procedure? Thank you!
I had a breast reduction 7 weeks ago and have a hard mass above areola about the size of a walnut. Every review I read, says to use heat and massage and it will liquify and drain. How often should I use heat and massage? And will it be able to drain if all my incisions are healed?
