How difficult is it to monitor Benign Microcalcifications in the breast, if the Patient has under the muscle Breast Implants? Would the Implant, although under the muscle, still make it more difficult to take clear images during a Mammogram?
Pre surgery, micro calcifications have been detected during my first ever Mammogram, in a younger patient (34) this can put you at a greater risk of developing breast cancer, does this mean I really shouldn't go ahead with breast implants- which would be under the muscle..? Do any of you surgeons have experience with this issue? I suppose it's my decision/risk, I'm sad to say I know the answer!
Lately, I've read and seen a lot of information with re: textured implants and their making calcification and or double capsules. What is your intake on this? Would this be considered a concern, and if so, would you recommend a capsulectomy removal should patients develop double capsules and/or calcification? Or would it be okay to leave them in?
I recently went for my baseline mammo because I was going to have a breast augmentation. I learned that I have extremely dense breasts. I was told they are very busy. I have to go fo a biopsy because of the calcification in my left breast. I also was told I have many cysts in which I would need a follow up ultrasound in 6 months. Clearly my health comes first. But if the biopsy comes back benign would I still be able to go through with these procedure? also I'm 37 years old
30 year old Polyurethane Silicone above muscle. 32aa now a large 32c. One would remove in one piece, due to calcifications and thin skin might have to leave some of the silicone if can't get it out around the calcification and would also put some stitches inside by my nipples to make sure my nipples stay in the right place while healing, said no lift req. 2nd opinion said try to remove them in one piece but might not be able to and would just flush the pocket out if silicone leaks.
I just had a mammogram done indicating I have dense breast tissue and benign appearing calcifications.Id like to know if I need to recheck these calcifications to make sure it's nothing to worry about, also id like to ask does my situation become even more difficult to detect any thing suspicious after implants ? Would an MRI cover the obscurities that perhaps a mammogram might miss ? Im wondering if I am putting myself at more risk for breast cancer detection by getting implants
