Hi I have RRMS since 2011. On medication Gilenya, My MS is stable and no new lesions on my MRI scan from last year. I would like to know if any breast implants will make me feel worse because of my MS? My ms team said ''There is no issues with you having general anaesthesia on the medications that you are on and definitely shouldn't stop you from having any surgery that is required'' Looking for advice. Thank you
I really want breast implants but I am worried about the risk of breast implant illness. I have read that there is a possible increased risk for those who have family history of autoimmune disease to develop BII. My maternal grandmother had rheumatoid arthritis and my father has psoriasis. I do not have any conditions (that I am aware of). My question is- should I avoid implants due to this risk, or is the level of risk low? Many thanks
The FDA recently announced a black box warning on breast implants citing among other things, the risk of systemic symptoms associated with implants (commonly referred to as BII.) Do you believe HLA-B27 is an accurate indicator of if one would develop autoimmune symptoms after receiving implants?
I had gastric bypass August 2017. And weigh a hundred and forty-three pounds now. I would like to have a breast lift and may need implants. Would like to find out if they are safe for people with autoimmune diseases.
I'm a 49yo woman considering breast augmentation, but I'm concerned about the safety. I have a very mild condition of ankylosing spondylitis and I'm HLA b27 positive. I don't take any medications as my disease has stayed at a barely detectable level for years and pain and inflammation are mild to nonexistent most of the time.
I have 8 year old smooth, cohesive gel implants, that I happen to be very happy with, aesthetically, and really do not want to remove them if I don't have to for health reasons. However, I've had multiple autoimmune issues over the past few years that have severely limited me, and without any concrete answers, I have come to suspect the implants.
I'm 38 years old. Started suffering from lots of aches and fatigue few years after my breast augmentation with saline implants. There is a Dr. in Atlanta, GA who confirms that there is a correlation between autoimmune problems and implants, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a correlation between fibromyalgia and saline breast implants.
