Unsure of capsular contracture. Annual mam due to cancer risk. Development of swelling on left side of arm pit. PC referred me for ultrasound 2x. Told that the swelling was probably just fat and that I just needed to lose weight. I was also told that the pain was due to stress. The pain has become intolerable. Accompanied by intermittent burning and itching. Impossible to do a mamm. without collapsing in pain. I DO NOT care about appearance. I want the pain to end.
Well, the time has come for my implants to come out. I've had no problems with them at all until about two weeks ago when I noticed slight swelling in one breast. Now, I'm trying to decide whether to leave the implants out or start over with new ones. My doctor seems to think my breasts won't sag that much, but he said he's only had three patients in his 30 yr career where women haven't had implant revision surgery. Please share your experience if you have not replaced the implants.
I imagine once the explant procedure is complete, initially there will be some volume due to swelling that resulted from the surgery itself and fluid retention. In your experience, is the difference in size significant from say 3 days post op vs 5 months post op? I understand the shape will change, but specifically the size? Thank you!
I am one month post op from breast implant re my right breast is being pulled in towards my ribs. I tried cupping and it realeased a little for a few days. But once the swelling went down it is being pulled in again. Feels like something is attached to my bone.
I have 22 year old saline implants under the muscle. I have had swollen painful lymph nodes for almost 2 years in the left axillae. When you physicians remove the implant, do the lymph nodes stop swelling? Or, does the capsule need to be removed to alleviate symptoms? I am struggling between removing the implant vs with or without the capsule. Both implants are intact. The left has a slight contracture with chronic pain on that side. All sonograms, ultrasound and lab work negative.
I am 6 days post, implant removal, reduction and full anchor lift. So my breast have really been through it. I am developing a lot of bruising, some swelling and a few dents. Is this all normal healing or should I be concerned. Thank you in advance for any support or advice.
I recently had explant and mastopexy, grade IV capsular contracture to left. Capsule removed with significant inflammation and blood evident, in last few days have had some swelling, inflammation and hardness to breast. PS says it is a hematoma, he tried to aspirate it but the blood has congealed. He said that my body should just slowly break it down and re absorb it, can I use ice packs to help with pain? Or should I apply heat? What is the best treatment?
