4 different consults: 1. Do implant removal under local with no drains then lift at a later time. 2. Go under and do explant, leaving capsules, with drains, and lift later. 3. Capsules must come out. Do capsulectomy then do a lift 6 months later. (this DR sited risk of infection as a reason to wait on the lift) 4. Do Capsulectomy and lift at the same time. This makes it really hard to pick a DR because they all say different things. I'm willing to travel to surrounding states of FL.
I have 13 year old implants. Right breast had a painful capsule since the very beginning. 1 month ago that right implant popped and thankfully no more pain. I am looking to remove implants and do a full lift (anchor). I have visited several doctors and one doctor will do under local anesthesia and sedation with no drains. Is this common?? I like that the recover will be faster than general anesthesia and no drains but I also want the safest option.
9 weeks prenant.. have been having issues with my implants prior to pregancy. I met with two different surgeons prior to finding out i am pregnant, both surgeons said that it can be done under local anasthesia and will take about 30 minutes, do not require drains. I do not have capsules. I am OK with waiting until second trimester before proceeding. MY OBGYN and Plastic Surgeon both approved me to have the procedure done. Looking for more opinions... Is this safe to do while being pregnant?
Late 2015 I had subglandular placement silicone breast implants. Went from A32 cup to C36. I want to remove them without replacement. I have benign lumps in both breasts. Which i check via ultrasound regularly. Doctor suggested to remove only the implants and do capsule scoring. No lift and No drains! Is this normal? Is this a good option when breast tissues are very thin and damaged by compression? Should I go with this option?
I had my implants removed 4 days ago under general anesthesia, no capsule removed, nor no drains put after surgery. I informed my surgeon that my left breast felt uncomfortable and he said because my muscle had a fold. What exactly does that mean? Will it harm or make me look deformed later? He prescribed muscles relaxers.
I just had my one month old implants removed on Monday (August 10th). It was a simple explant done under local. No removal of capsules, no drains. My PS sent me home in a surgical bra, no tight bandages or anything. I asked the nurse when I could switch to a sports bra and she told me I can wear ANY bra I'm comfortable in. I feel as though they aren't as eager to help since I asked for an explant. How long would you recommend I wait before switching to a regular bra? Thank you!
I will be 2 weeks post op of 10th month old implants, sub muscular, no drains, capsule NOT removed. I will be on vacation and am wondering if I will need to be 24/7 in a sports bra or can I also wear a bathing suit (no wire). My PS knows I'm going on vacation and he felt it would be ok, just looking for other opinions. thanks!
