I had a breast augmentation in February with silicone implants and everything has gone very smoothly so far. However now one of my nipples for the past few days is very tender to touch, constantly erect and I feel an ache/pain behind it and sometimes an ache in the side of the breast. It kind of reminds me of when I had mastitis a few years ago while breastfeeding. Could this be mastitis ? Worried about infection. Thanks for your time.
I've had 4 children and with each one, had difficulty during breastfeeding. I was very prone to clogged ducts and mastitis. Is that any indication that my breasts might respond negatively to a BA or could be prone to infection after a breast surgery?
The Dr has suggested we wait a little while to see if it goes down on it's own, but I am aware the implant may need to come out. Is there anything I can do to help it go down? I have heard increasing protein may help. The Dr is still unsure what has caused the fluid to build up. Possibly mastitis, or engorgement, or maybe milk leaking into the cavity. I'm worried the issue may not go away, even if the implant is removed. Can the fluid sit inside you for prolonged periods? Or is it bad for you?
My breasts are normally very symmetrical. 2 days ago my right breast became sore & swollen with no other symptoms. I called the Dr's office where I had my implants put in (20 yrs ago) & they said this is probably mastitis caused from some other infection in my body and gave me a rx for Duricef. I am unaware of any recent infections (possibly a mild UTI, I get them often but haven't had any recent symptoms). Is there any other reasons or ideas of what may be causing this? Breast cancer or ALCL?
I am having a bout with mastitis on my left breast 6 months post op and 1 month post miscarriage. I had a breast aug through the nipple, 6 months ago. I healed wonderfully. Fast forward 6 months later, I miscarried with twins and now have mastitis that is responding to antibiotics.
