I can still feel stitches in a few places under the skin of my breast .How rare is that? Should this give me a cause for concern? Is there still a chance it will dissolve? If not, what course of action is there for me? Do they need to be surgically removed? It's been 16 months from my surgery.
I noticed a lump behind my incision (you can only feel it, not see it) and it is about the size and feel of a jelly bean. I am 6 weeks post op. Inframmamary incision. My surgeon examined me and said it is most likely some scar tissue around an internal stitch that is refusing to dissolve. Will it go away? Could this be a sign that I will get capsular contracture, since its my immune systems doing? I hate massaging it as it makes me feel nauseous but Im trying my best.
After 1 year of BA I felt a lump, a bit painful below the breast near incision. I met with the cance doctor, had mammogram, sonogram and biopsy. The results were in and it show it was pus. I was prescribe antibiotics. Follow up a sonogram was done and it show the lump had gotten much smaller. Follow up doctor stated it would get better. However, at times I feel pain, is it possible a suture wasnt dissolve.
I went to my 4 week check a few days early as I was still experiencing pain when the nurse checked my she found that none of my stitches had dissolved she had to take them all out and one side and having to put an iodine strips on and dress every day! Will it be ok the nurse told me not to worry but I'm very swore and keep having time off work. Lucy
The one week post op was good, stitches have dissolved and wounds have healed. My boobs have not been a problem, and seem to be recovering great. However, I have had constant terrible pain in my upper ribs. Why? Thanks in advance.
BA scar on left breast. Both ends of the scar are red and lumpy. One has even developed a black head. The redness and lumpiness has not improved in 7 months. The middle of the scar has healed well. I believe the dissolvable stitch did not dissolve properly and is aggravating the skin. This should have resolved itself in 7 months no? Can it be injected with some type of medication? Does it need to be surgically removed? The left breast scar had to be opened twice to insert a drain one day post o
Iv been told these scars are a reaction from my body to the sutures which were dissolvable sutures? Why have I got these scars and are they a reaction from my body? My friend came with me to my appointment after surgery for a check up and asked why we could see the black stitches which one was measured at 7.5 cm long. These were dissolvable sutures that Iv been told my body had a reaction to which caused these scares?
I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and sutures taken out a week ago and now have dissolvable. I felt a bump that is tender to touch under one suture area where the arrow is pointing and noticed some irritation around the incision sites. Is this a suture abscess or a part of healing ? I contacted the on call nurse and sent a photo and she basically said to eye it and call if it gets worse. I plan to call the office Monday if it's not better. I also was applying neosporin which they told me to stop.
I took my bandages off last night in the shower and my incisions are begging for more Easter and I just want to put triple anabiotic point meant on them but I was told not to. However, on my next follow up I believe there is some ointment they sell for scar treatment. Does it really help or can I just put ointment and vitamin E on my incisions?
