I recently got braces on my top half. In a couple weeks I will get them on the bottom half as well. I have an overbite & my teeth are quite crooked. As part of my orthodontic treatment, two teeth will be extracted from the top. I really dislike my lower third and am wonder will braces fix my protruding lips, weak chin and undefined jawline
I have a weak chin and overbite. I'm very self conscious about my chin and profile. Will braces fix this? I am a college student on a budget but want it taken care of ASAP. I feel braces are the lowest costing solution. If braces will not correct this, what is the best option?
Dear doctors, my problem is entirely aesthetic . However I have become more self conscious of it over recent years . My chin development seems to be very weak and my jaws are not visible at all. It makes my face look very round and devoid of any definition.i wanna know if braces would correct this issue. In case the answer is yes , will tooth removal be necessary. Or would it be more appropriate to go for a chin implant . Or something more like jaw alignment. Pls suggest the right procedure .
I would like to improve my profile and straighten my teeth at the same time. By seeing 3 orthodontists, I was recommended to extract all 4 wisdom teeth (which I already did), but they also wanted to extract other 4 teeth. I feel that by extracting 2 teeth from my upper arch, I would make my profile look even more weak (I would actually make my upper lip follow the lower one which is underdeveloped). What would you recommend? Is extracting 8 teeth in total a good approach?
I've read the having the upper jaw brought forward can make the nose look bigger/rounder. I want to avoid this as my nose is already big and round. Then, with having the lower jaw set back, my chin may look more recessed and weak. I'm not sure which route to take here, answers are greatly appreciated. I want to do what will look best.
I had braces for 9 years starting when I was in second grade. I never had a weak chin till around middle school. Now I feel like the rest of my face grew and my jaw didn't. I've had all wisdom teeth removed and one other on each side. Will braces fix this or is some other surgery needed?
had braces as an early teen to align teeth&correct bite.I have always had/hated my weak chin(underdevloped mandible). Considering chin implant but think BSSO surgery would be more correct. To make matters worse i had a baseball injury which led to me losing a front tooth and now having a bridge on 3frnt top teeth.weak chin always makes me very self conscious as a result i tend to push my lower jaw forward.can i have mandible advancement surgery and just have braces to move my bottom teeth back?
