I had braces like 8 years ago, for 1 year, (I don't even remember why but I suppose for the same reason, overbite & overjet), and as I didn't wear the retainer at night I suppose my teeth came back to the wrong position over the years. I am curious about if I can fix my bite without extractions; and also if I would improve my jaw and chin and have a more forward and V shape face from the front like this guy ( https://imgur.com/Amn7OVb ) because if I am clean shaven I have 0 forward growth
I don't like my chin when I smile or when I don't smile. I'm not sure whether I need braces, because in my opinion my upper teeth are too forward, or if I need to get jawline and chin fillers? If I get braces, what exactly shall I do? would making my smile wider and more backward change y face and make it prettier? Something about that part of my face makes me look masculine...I can't figure out what and how to change it. Any suggestions?
I just got my braces off after 3 years and I'm starting to regret not getting four teeth removed as suggested. I've noticed that my profile isn't as great as I thought it would be after orthodontic treatment because my mentalis muscle is flexed making my profile look blunt. I think I may have been a mouth breather as I had a narrow palate and was diagnosed with having a longer downward growing mandible going into consultation. Would jaw surgery fix this? Would I need braces again?
My chin looks fine when I smile and don't close my lips and I'm happy with it. However when I close my lips it looks very recessed and bad. I also have overbite/overjet and recently got braces for it and soon will get elastics, but I'm not sure it will solve the problem. Do you think the issue is bone, or protrusive lower teeth/overbite? Will braces make my chin look like it does when I smile, when my mouth is closed, or would I need some type of surgery/augmentation. Thanks
I think I need either braces or a jaw surgery. I'm a mouth breather and to close my mouth and keep it closed causes me a lot of discomfort and pressure and sometimes it cracks and pops a lot when I move my mouth. But mostly I don't think it looks very feminine and I think I just look better if I have a shorter jaw/chin. Any suggestion?
Dear doctors, my problem is entirely aesthetic . However I have become more self conscious of it over recent years . My chin development seems to be very weak and my jaws are not visible at all. It makes my face look very round and devoid of any definition.i wanna know if braces would correct this issue. In case the answer is yes , will tooth removal be necessary. Or would it be more appropriate to go for a chin implant . Or something more like jaw alignment. Pls suggest the right procedure .
My name is Alberto I'm 30 years old and my left side jaw grew more than the right side, because of this my chin is off center. I can see it in pictures or when I smile (because of this I don't smile a lot unfortunately) I also have crooked teeth. A maxilofacial that I visited long time ago told me that I would need orthodontic treatment + jaw surgery, to correct the problem. I could afford braces treatment, but jaw surgery is quite expensive here in the UK and couldn't afford it
I'm a teenage girl and my chin becomes wrinkly when my lips touch.I did research and I believe I have lip incompetence that leads to mentalis strain. My chin is recessed.I have braces to correct some crooked teeth and my bite.I would like to fix mentalis strain, lip incompetence, and recessed chin.I saw that options were to get a genioplasty, botox, chin implant, or orthodontics. An article said that by removing teeth and braces,a girl got rid of her mentalis strain. What would be the best option?
