Yummie Tummie: The Shaper You Can Bear to Wear

Who among us has not sported a few extra pounds after the birth of a child? That's what happened to Heather Thompson, fashion industry veteran, co-creative director for Tina and Beyonce Knowles' House of Dereon, and former Creative VP of Jennifer Lopez'  Sweetface brand. So she left the Knowles company to put together her own solution: Yummie Tummie. After months of experimenting with various fabrics and a sewing machine in the bedroom of her New York apartment, Heather developed what she thinks is a groundbreaking design for a modern shaper.

But I haven't tried it yet. Let me explain something to you: shapers are not something I like to wear. I grew up in the era of girdles, whiche were just another name for shapers. In fact, enough people came to hate girdles that someone came up with the name change. Older women sweated in girdles, but younger women wear "shapers."

This particular shaper has been patent protected by Thompson, who says she has made it a staple of her wardrobe, a piece designed to be worn every day as a foundation or layering piece. She says it is comfortable as well as effective.

Yummie Tummie slims the midsection and camouflages visible lumps and bumps while remaining extremely comfortable and discreet.  Unlike other shapers, which Thompson found were uncomfortable, tight, and fabricated from constricting elastic that did not stay in place,  Yummie Tummie lets you bend and move.

Unlike most shapers that compress your bust and roll up, the Yummie Tummie's cotton bust and hip panels appear to the outsider as a normal tank top; meanwhile the secret midsection panel is smoothing and eliminates pounds from your appearance. Yummie Tummie is the first shaper garment that is top oriented, designed to be worn each and everyday as a foundation or layering piece.

The Yummie Tummie tank is available in sizes extra small through extra large and comes in both long and regular length variations in ten colors. The multi-purpose tank is great for layering, hitting the gym and all other everyday activities. The new Yummie Tummie long sleeve scoop neck and v-neck, short sleeve v-neck and scoop neck and the freedom T with a built in shelf bra will be available for purchase in April.

I can't wait :-)

I just can’t get rid of my body fat in my mid-section. I have turned to the brand Yummie Tummie. I was on the website www.BareNecessities.com and found the long length tank. I found it on this link: http://www.barenecessities.com/Yummie-Tummie_brand_324.htm The tank slims my midsection and hides the lumps that would show through my shirts. I have no more worries, because I now have a smooth womanly shape. It just gives me options, because I can wear it like a layering piece or tuck it in to my jeans. The best thing ever is that no one will ever know I’m wearing shapewear!

I love my Yummie Tummie! Nice post. I bought a couple of the white Tanks a couple of weeks ago and just love it! I was watching Oprah on Friday and Yummie tummie was one of Oprah's featured products for summer. So cool. I bought mine at www.YummieTummie.com. I am a short and I am glad that I bought the regular length. It is perfect for me. My sister has a longer mid-section so she will most likley get the long length. S.

I bought my yummietummies at a store that was going out of business. I have never tried one of these before, but I have tried spanx and other similar ones. I love the yummietummies, it holds in my muffin tops and love handles like no other one has. I will only buy yummietummies from now on. They are great, and I can wear tops that I couldn't wear before because I didn't want my love handles to show. Now they don't.
