Costco bulks up on anti-aging serum

Costco culture defines the Seattle social scene. You can't go to a party in Seattle where you're not munching on a gallon tub of pretzels, carving off a 3 pound log of cheese, or sampling an oversized white chocolate chip cookie from a plastic bin holding two dozen others. And you thought Seattle was all about rain and coffee.
My own view of Costco is, get in, get out before you can contemplate a flat panel TV, electric toothbrush, or outdoor fire pit purchase. On my visit this afternoon my blistering shopping pace suddenly ended when I caught sight of a gigantic end-cap bearing good news: "Age Defying Skincare from Borghese".
Indeed, Costco has gotten into the anti-aging business in a big way. Their Kirkland Signature brand (the same one showing up on my huge bundle of toilet paper rolls) graces a multi-step skin care line that reminds me of the Arbonne anti-aging products.
A cosmetics counter-like person was giving out samples of their serum, which not too surprisingly, attracted the attention of a large crowd of women. Their line includes a moisturizing cream (that contains SPF!), age-defying wrinkle defense serum, and an age-defying restorative night cream.
I can't precisely recall the price for each product, but I'm pretty sure you can get each treatment for under $20. In comparison, Borghese charges $75 for the Crema Straordinaria, which is a night time cream that sounds similar to the Costco version.
Tonight I'm going to test out the "lighter than air" skin serum which has me intrigued. Finally, if you live near a Costco, you might want to call ahead. Sometimes Seattle gets trial programs due to our close proximity to Costco's headquarters. Or you can call Borghese to discuss their Costco marketed products at 1-800-409-0091.
