Before and After BBL: My Booty Has Fluffed Out To Something Fierce

RealSelf community member SXWallex commenced her body sculpting quest in early 2013.  This is her journey, in her own words.

My surgeon was surprised that I was interested in a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) once he found out what I do for a living; think engineer, lawyer, doctor, account executive ... But, I’ve always wanted this body shape. I’ve been blessed with the requisite funds, I'm 23 and don’t have kids or a husband to think about, so if I’m gonna be "selfish", now is the time.

I carry ALL of my fat in my upper body. It's pretty ridiculous; my legs are straight muscle from running track most of my life. I wanted a bigger butt, but I also wanted my upper body sculpted.

I considered the surgery for over two years. Anesthesia scared me most, so I began exhaustive research. It took me a while to be fully comfortable with my decision but some uncertainty is a good thing; it shows you understand the risks that accompany an invasive, elective procedure.

RealSelf introduced me to my doctor. Very few people knew about my surgery; so it was nice to have a place to freely discuss my hopes and concerns with fellow sisters. I stayed in a condo after my surgery with someone I met on RealSelf, who was also recovering from a BBL. And yes, we are very much still in contact!

I believe I chose a doctor who produced such natural looking results, that no one ever has accused of me of getting work done.  Booty has fluffed out to something fierce and I love it. And, all of a sudden, I've started to get a ton of compliments -- all from women! I was walking out of class and I was wearing tight black leggings with a tight black top and the girl behind me says, "I'm sorry, but I have to say ... you have the most incredible body. Your waist is so small and your curves are perfect! You must work out a lot!"

I laughed, thanked her and said, "Yes, I do."
