WATCH: Botox Child Taken From Mother

Makenzie on 16 May 2011 at 9:00am

Britney Campell, now famous as the 8-year-old who gets Botox injected by her mom for "wrinkles," was removed from her home over the weekend.

Outraged parents, doctors, and people everywhere who care about children should breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the mother is now being investigated by Child Protection Services.

A lot of readers expressed anger last week when this story first aired on GMA. What do you hope happens now?

While it's probably the right call, it's hard not to be sad about this whole story.

I wish I knew how the girl felt...sad, I'm sure.  Maybe the mom will get the help she needs and get her child back.

I agree -- I hope there is a happy ending to all of this. I.e., mom and child learn that there will be an appropriate time and place to be concerned about beauty, but it is NOT worrying about wrinkles and body hair at 8!

I think that GMA should be investigated for not alerting the authorities. Their story was more important than calling the authorities. They aired the story, waited for outrage from the public, who then called authorities. I hate these types of stories.

Cutenu2 I see your point, however the story was first produced in The Sun back in March or April, and gained some pretty big notoriety. So the real concern here to me is that the authorities didn't do anything about it until there was a bigger national outcry.
