Jerry Hall spoke out this week, sharing her opinions on plastic surgery as quoted by FemaleFirst.co.uk.
Mick Jagger's ex states, "Women should age with dignity. The idea that you have this young face and a wrinkly body? It's gross! Why try and look younger than you are? Maybe you need a new husband rather than a facelift!"
Whether women opt for plastic surgery to change their appearance or not, I find it sad that Hall needs to throw in the "new husband" comment. Finding a man to validate your beauty is as big of a problem as using cosmetic surgery to find yourself.
The star has insisted repeatedly that she will never go under the knife, referring to plastic surgery as "pathetic" and "uncool."
She clearly spends her time outside of the doctor's office on a manhunt, as documented by her short-lived reality show "Kept" wherein she searched for a much younger man to be her arm candy in exchange for a car, apartment, and a six figure salary. Hall may be slamming people for seeking to change their looks, but it seems she is seeking to change her self-esteem via a man, which will require much more recovery time in the long run than any face lift.

Interesting post! It's good of Hall to speak out against plastic surgery, maybe she meant that if your husband is pressuring you to get a face lift, you should get a new husband! :)
It's intriguing that the men on shows like the Bachelor (or my personal fave, the insane Flavor Flav) aren't accused of needing a woman to bolster their self-esteems. "Kept" seems to be trying to flip the status quo, by having a rich older woman try find some arm candy. Her methods may be dubious, but I think it's a bit unfair to say that she's just in this for the self-esteem. Perhaps keeping a live human being as one's personal pet and boy/girl-toy is the bigger issue...
Anyway, great blog. I especially liked the article you did about the Jimmy Choo's & foot surgery -- who knew people did that?!
