VelaSmooth: Does it work for Cellulite?

Velasmooth treatment is used to reduce appearance of cellulite. Does it work? We're always on the hunt for information about the latest cosmetic procedure technology or treatments.Our latest discovery was a product that has received FDA approval called VelaSmooth. The electrical device uses heat and massage to address fat deposits such as cellulite.

If this cracks the code and works to remove cellulite, we're looking at a multi-billion dollar product.

Update April 2009: Velasmooth and Velashape are not looking like billion dollar products. RealSelf.com readers have mixed opinions about the efficacy of these cellulite treatments. Ratings for these treatments currently show:

Velashape: 22% say Velashape was worth it
Velasmooth: 21% say Velasmooth was worth it

Yes and it does not work!!!! Please don't spend your money on this treatment. I went to the Bakersfield, ca and Fresno, ca area and they did nothing for me. I spent close to $3,000 and did not see any improvement:( I'm 5'2 and 125lbs with some cellulite on the back of my thighs. After about 8 sessions, I feel my cellulite became worse!! I work out every day and I know my cellulite will never disapear but at least I can help it not get worse!

has anyonu tried hypoxi or endermologie and if so what were the results?

I just recently started Hypoxi (I have completed 4 weeks, which is 12 sessions) and I can already tell a difference! Due to the dermology that Hypoxi offers, I can already tell that the cellulite in my buttocks and thighs is smoothing out. While I don't expect it to go away COMPLETELY, I'm excited to already tell a difference! I also have always struggled with my legs and hips (or "saddlebags") as I like to call them, and with the use of the S120, I can already feel a difference in my pants. They're sliding up just a little bit easier :) I've committed to 36 Hypoxi sessions, so I'm excited to see the final result!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I did 10 Amerismooth treatments - it did nothing and after complaining, they offered the new exciting treatments with Velashape at not cost. After 4 treatments, I saw no change at all. The cost of Amerismooth was about $3,500 but Velashape is about 2x or 3x the cost. Also I would like to add that I was exercising, eating healthy and my body fat went from 38% to 25%, so I was doing everything that I could to help the treatments along. It should have worked like they claim it does. Very disappointing!

I had a baby so Of course I have a big a** now LOL! I have had one treatment. I like it I did get hickis. I will post photos later i do have the before & after. I am a realtor

I've had one treatment so far. They say I need 6. At $350 a pop for 20 minutes. I really hope I see some improvement. But after reading some of you comments I'm a little turned off by the whole thing. It wasn't painful but I bruised a little maybe that means something is happening. I'll keep you posted on my results.

I don't think Velasmooth works at all! Especially at {edited}! There staff is very rude and don't do a good job at all! I don't recommend it at all, especially to a person with a very small area like myself! Even exercise can make some go away then this stupid treatment! I had my first Velasmooth treatment yesterday and it did hurt a lot. My legs are bruised as much or more than liposuction does. I have read studies that show that 75% of people trying Velasmooth get "some" improvement. Not much but "some". That is good enough for me to go on trying. I'd be happy with some improvement. But 25% of people therefore get "no" improvement. $1,700 for 8 treatments is the price I'm paying, but I'm going to wait until winter when I'm back in long pants to do the rest of the treatments. Hopefully, I'll get something out of them. I hear that at least you can reduce the size of the area by 1/2 inch or so. That would be something anyway. I'm not expecting a lot, but at this point anything would be better than nothing.

Just wondering if you have completed any additional treatments and if you feel it is worth the money. I am contemplating having the procedure after already having lipo and still having tremendous celluite problems. I have read so many pros and cons and some before and after photos I've seen don't look any different, after all the money I have already spent, if it doesn't work I don't want to waste any more money. Thanks.

I also spent a lot of money on velasmooth and didn't see any results. There wasn't any pain for me, but all the time off work and the money spent really makes me sick to my stomach.

This is in response to the unhappy VelaSmooth customer: As with any service or product you purchase, always make sure you're buying from a reputable provider. Look for recommendations from prior customers. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with your VelaSmooth treatments and results. I am thrilled with my results with the VelaSmooth and I have extremely happy patients who received their VelaSmooth treatments from me personally. If your VelaSmooth Clinician doesn't know how to use the machine properly, you won't achieve the best results. Always ask to see before and after photos from actual patients of your VelaSmooth Clinician. If they're successful, they won't mind showing you their results.

Velasmooth does not work! I paid $3,000 for 10 treatments, which I was told initially was enough for optimum results. After my fifth treatment, I was told that new information had revealed that optimum results are actually achieved after approximately 16 treatments. They then offered me a 20 percent reduction on the remaining treatments (another $1,800). When I complained and threatened to sue, they gave me the remaining treatments for no additional charge. I shouldn't have bothered. After all the hours of time and pain (yes, extreme pain -- there is no way that this is the painless method they describe) the only thing I achieved was the loss of $3,000. Don't waste your money or endure the torture. I started out with a consultation with a physician and never saw him again. The treatments were administered by a 19 year old esthetician. What a gimmick!

ah, same here...first after all the m0ney i paid i got burnt!! The machine gives off heat and if the person doesn't know what they r doing they can burn you. It did nothing for me at all!

velasmooth alone is not effective at all, as" native ",intact fat cannot possibly be moved around.I had grate success with it for my postlipo dimples,when my doctor infiltrated the area with fluid,waited for fat to emulsify, and after 30 min of velasmooth to mobilise fat, manually massaged the area to smooth.I was wearing garment for 3 days.Effect is AMAISING!
