Using the yellow pages to find a doctor?

Using the yellow pages to find a doctor?
Beauty Cred on Nov 21, 2008

It amazes me that consumers still rely upon paid directories like the yellow pages to find a dermatologist, dentist, or plastic surgeon.  For the enlightened-- like you-- that use the web and unbiased communities like RealSelf.com (couldn't help doing a plug!), save a bunch of trees and stop yellow page books from appearing at your home and business.

Yellowpagesgoesgreen.com is a free resource that is determined to stop the nonsense. Go to this page to submit your information.

What amazes me is that people comment about things that they don't have the facts about. The fact is that the paper used to print yellow pages is comprised mostly of recycled fiber and the rest is comprised of "left-overs" from trees cut down for other purposes. Vegetable-based inks and dyes are used so that the majority of directories today are recyclable/biodegradable. So to "save a tree" maybe you should be proactive where it actually would make sense.

I am looking at this site for review of the doctors themselves. Is there such a thing? Thanks.
