Liposuction techniques are making plastic surgery less invasive and painful, according to doctorsNever heard of the plastic surgery procedure called liposelection? Neither had I before I saw a story about liposelection on NBC.

Appears that this new fat removal method reduces trauma to surrounding tissue, allowing for rapid recovery (days, not weeks often encountered by traditional liposuction patients).

Dr. Tina West, a dermatologist based in Chevy Chase, Maryland offers patients the liposelection fat removal process, and states the benefits stem from the fact that "The ultrasound energy actually causes the skin to contract, so we are able to do arms with a much more precise and smooth result and that tissue contraction, so that we don't have hanging skin".

Liposelection is not cheap. It costs between $2,000 and $6,000. But once you factor in the speed of recovery, this may be the most economical solution should you be considering liposuction.
