We also recognize a special status for professionals who've not only maintained the highest level of activity within our community, but have taken additional steps to help us grow it.

In an effort to highlight these participants, we have created Top Participant status  (formerly Gold status).

Becoming a Top Participant

To achieve Top Participant status in the RealSelf.com community, professionals provide:

• 20 total answers or content contributions on RealSelf.com (contributions include relevant articles, comments, blog posts et al.)
• At least two new answers or other submissions per month
• A link to RealSelf or our Q&A “widget” - a pre-written code that, when added to your website, displays past RealSelf.com postings (See an example)

Additional factors:

• Responsiveness to RealSelf communications/contacts
• Quality contributions (e.g. readers give “helpful” votes to answers)
• Adherence to community guidelines - no vote abuse, overt self-promotion, etc.
• Registered on RealSelf - username and password must be active

Top Participants receive free benefits that include:

• Top Participant status “badge” shown on profile (See an example)
• Top Participant status "badge" shown throughout our directory (See an example)
• Access to the "Web reference" field - allows you to link to your website from every answer post
