With a 40% Worth It Rating, Is Thermage Worth A Second Look?

Thermage, a skin tightening treatment that uses non-invasive radiofrequency energy, has been generating lots of interest on RealSelf this week, thanks in part to a segment on Good Morning America.

Thermage, meanwhile, doesn't fair so well in the RealSelf Worth It Rating.  Out of over 200 reviews, Thermage is currently rated "Worth it" by just 40%, with the average cost of $2,700.

But comments in the GMA story by Dr. Debra Jaliman, a New York City-based dermatologist suggest that patient satisfaction should rise: “A recent upgrade to the technology now can produce results comparable to a very natural face-lift. In a few hours. With no surgery.”

A number of medical experts on RealSelf agree that the new Thermage CPT works better than the old, but add that it’s still not the best choice for everyone.
