
My wife is still making me pay for using her story in RealSelf.com TV coverage, requiring that I clear out old papers and files sitting around the house.
As I recycled a recruiting letter from the CIA and a crazy list of attributes I sought in my future college roommate, I hit upon a cache of circa 2000 dotcom pitches. Since these are headed for the post-waste world I thought it was worth sharing the most buzzword loaded pitch that captured the height of the bubble.
Slam Media, Inc: "is an identity-branded high-speed Internet content destination, offering niche-targeted alternative content via on-demand video streaming, audio streaming, interactive gaming, webzine content, and complex multimedia experiences - 'bleeding edge content via bleeding edge technology.' [editor note - that was indeed the first sentence. reminds me of Men's Expert Hydra-Energetic Turbo Recharger Instant Facial ]... The style and voice of our site is very "anti-America Online" in terms of edginess, creativity, willingness to take risks, and methods by which we involved media producers as collaborators (offerings them friendly contracts and percentages); we're competing against a number of large mainstream media conglomerates, but our voice gives us an MTV-style opportunity to grab a significant niche audience"
I'm all about karma so I'll hold off on commentary on the business idea...actually, can someone tell me what it was?
