I'm not hard to please with self-tanners. Here'my criteria:

  • No Smell
  • Natural Color
  • Easy, Even Application

Not much to ask. So here's how three self-tanners I tried stack up:

1. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbrush Self Tanning Mist

Smell: ok, not that chemical sunless tan smell

Color: pretty natural looking

Application: easy, but I needed to rub it in with gloved hand to ensure even application

2. Lancome Flash Bronzer Airbrush Multi-Angle Self-Tanning Spray Even and All-Over Glow

Smell: had a faint "sunless tanner" scent

Color: natural looking--a nice bronzy tone

Application: easy, and the best of the three as I found the mist to be more airy--it went on more evenly, though I also helped smooth it on further with my hand

3. Fusion Beauty GlowFusion Micro-Nutrient Face & Body Natural Protein Tan

Smell: best smell of the bunch--virtually undectable

Color: very natural looking

Application: this has a pump--I wasn't using the airbrush version of GlowFusion; the pumping action is not a continual, 360-degree spray, so it requires a bit extra work to rub the tanner onto skin

WiWi: Was it Worth it? I found the color of all three self-tanning sprays to be very good. But given the slight self-tanner scent of Lancome Flash Bronzer, and the pump-action for Fusion Beauty GlowFusion, my overall fave is L'Oreal Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbrush Self Tanning Mist.
