Clinique-tox

Allergan, the maker of Botox Cosmetic, and Clinique are partnering to form a new antiaging skin care line distributed exclusively via doctor offices.  Allergan and Clinique expect to create a new category of best-in-class skin care products that will be Allergy Tested and fragrance free.  The division of labor is something like this:

Botox Needs A Black Box Warning?

I remember a few years ago when people were having Botox parties in their homes. Maybe they still are.  On our pages, all our professionals advise people to get their shots from trained dermatologists.  And we do have a few stories from people who came out of their procedures with one eyebrow higher than the other.

Are You Afraid Of Ageism?

Whoa! This book "How Not to Look Old" that I talked about a couple of weeks ago has apparentlly taken the NY Times bestseller list by storm.  (Disclosure: I have not read it, nor do I intend to, because it is one of those books that's "in the air" and I feel I already know what's in it.) The difference between this book and any other beauty book is that this one's aimed at working women who want to look young not for any personal reason, but because they need to keep their jobs or advance their careers.

Safetox Worth It?

I did it, I got Botox the other day for my first time (yes, I'll post a Botox review on RealSelf in a few days).  Let's just say my experience was more painful than expected during the injection and the results aren't incredible...just ok.

Trick To Seeing The Dermatologist Sooner Than Later

Having trouble getting into a dermatologist for a "mole patrol"?  Might want to start out by asking for Botox.

Researchers contacted nearly 900 dermatologist offices across the US, and found the median wait to get into a dermatologist for Botox injections was 8 days. In contrast, the median wait time to see the dermatologist for evaluation of a changing mole (a potential sign of skin cancer) was 26 days.

TV Sets Go From "Boob Tubes" To Botox Tubes

High definition television technology paired with highly Botox injected TV stars is becoming a problem for Hollywood studios.

Behind the scenes, casting directors, writers and directors are doing their best to make the stars of their respective TV shows appear natural, with character in their faces, as opposed to coming across on screen as a frozen figure. Whether roles are being given to performers who are still able to express facial emotions, or plastic surgery is written into their character's lives, the extreme close-ups that HDTV provides are making all nip and tuck procedures glare on screen.
