Breast Implants Save Florida Woman's Life

Three years ago, a routine physical examination of April Pinkard revealed a frightening, unnamed condition. Florida doctor Mohammed Choudhury discovered that Pinkard's heart had shifted to another area in her chest, an unintended consequence of having a lung removed when Pinkard was born with lung disease many years ago.

Discovering the problem was just a matter of searching for the heartbeat and finding nothing. She says, "he listened to my heartbeat one day and it just wasn't there." Few says “discomfort can readily be controlled a number of ways including topical anesthetic creams to numb the skin, a dental block to numb a region, or a local anesthetic injection prior to the cosmetic injection.” For those of us who prefer to keep the number of needle sticks to minimum, there are some alternatives.

Boston Dermatologist Likes Fraxel For Neck And Chest

Boston dermatologist Rachel Herschenfeld contributes her skin care expertise to the Washington Post in a column called Skin Sense. Her latest piece focuses on skin care for the neck and chest, saying "much of the advice about facial skin care is applicable below the chin."

Dr. Herschenfeld recommends the usual sunscreen, retinol, and glycolic products, along with IPL treatment and Fraxel. The Fraxel laser has emerged as a viable treatment for rejuvenating sensitive skin on the neck and chest. Because of fractional technology, which penetrates deep but resurfaces only part (a fraction) of the dermis, these sensitive areas are easier to treat.
