Intense Stain Toothpaste for Wine & Coffee Diet
I'm liking the sound of that: wine & coffee diet. It's more appealing to me than that McDonald's diet we recently spoke about--and I can do a good job of convincing myself that it's a diet loaded with antioxidants. Unfortunately, the appeal is lost when I realize I may already be living the wine & coffee diet--and the only benefit I've been reaping is that I've put out the welcome mat for discolored teeth.
The mirror doesn't lie and, sadly, when it comes to one of the biggest tell-tale signs of aging (ie, yellowed teeth), coffee, tea and wine are the tarnishing trifecta. Think about it--it's like your mouth getting Jackson Pollock-ed with indelible (albeit edible) paint every time a swig of the stuff goes down. Enter Rembrandt Intense Stain Toothpaste and my first impression...
Rembrandt Intense Stain Toothpaste promises to get rid of intense stains caused by coffee and wine by using polishing and stain-removing ingredients to gently clean and whiten your teeth. It also contains Citroxain, a whitening enzyme derived by Rembrandt from the papaya plant.
The first thing I notice about Intense Stain Toothpaste is that there is no granular or grainy feel to it--it doesn't feel abrasive at all--a plus for enamel. It definitely cleans more than your typical toothpaste, and my teeth look brighter after using it. Rembrandt Intense Stain Toothpaste also has a minty flavor that isn't overpowering--so there's none of that potentially "burning" feeling.
In truth, I had already had my teeth professionally whitened years ago--and it's held up incredibly. So I don't have any major staining to deal with--but I'd use a toothpaste like Rembrandt Intense Stain Toothpaste for daily care to help keep teeth stain-free--and to cut down on the frequency of needing at-home strips (at nearly $25 a clip).
Heroes star Hayden Panettiere reportedly loves the Rembrandt product line, and she picked up Rembrandt's 2-Hour Whitening Kit for her mom during Rembrant's gifting party at the 2008 Oscars.
WiWi: Was it Worth it? For non-abrasive daily cleaning that helps whiten teeth--or keep them white--Rembrandt Intense Stain Toothpaste seems like a good option. I just can't say how effective it will be for more intense stains--a professional treatment or whitening strips may be necessary first.
